Good point.

X64 users need to do the same for many 32 bit programs.

ORIGINAL: nitrosportsandrunner

just like title says
i bought the dynam 6ch sim transmitter. it came with a FMS, but it doesnt work right on window 7. i can run it, but only if i turn textures off(which looks like crap) i need s FREE flight sim to download that will work on window 7.
There is a DirectX library file missing from Vista/Win 7 that FMS relies on to function. You can download the library file and install it in the FMS folder and the simulator will run fine:

I've run FMS on my Vista Home Premium 64-bit desktop and notebook.

Copy this file if this link doesn't work find this file d3drm.dll and copy it onto windows system file folder where main dll files are and it should work fine.

Actually the DirectX9c redistributable install takes care of that automatically as well as supplying a couple of other files, other programs may look for.

I was pleasantly surprised when G5 loaded up and ran fine on my personal Windows 7 Home Premium system without any issues. It's a Dell Inspiron with a quad processor and 4 gig of RAM.

I have another computer, a Dell Lattitude E6500 laptop that is really high-end (work machine) that has Ultimate 64 bit and 8 Gig of RAM. I would love to load it on that one and try it out, but, as I said, it's a work computer.. probably frown on that software on that machine.
