Hi Y'all[&o]
Last Saturday 10 days before my Bday, as tomorrow May 18 is my Birthday and I have no planes to fly. My Hangar 9's Mustang PTS crashed due to my stupid mistake. I used as per recommendation of my LHS owner 10X7 prop, which I felt made plane not very higher on rpms but little sensitive. I wanted to badly to replace 10X7 by 11X6 but I kept flying and thats I'm talking about the first flight. I did rolls, verticals, loops and everything, I tried to take a low pass inverted as soon as I tried to turn it to make it straight, it took a sharp left turn BOOOM, hit the ground so hard that I saw 2 to 5 inches pit in the ground. Here goes my Mustang in pieces [&o][&o][&o][&o] All totally my mistake. Escapade crashed due to receiver, Mustang crashed due to my mistake, if I had that plane on a good altitude prolly I would have been able to recover it, I think prop also played somewhat a role in it. Now I have no plane to fly until another month as my college would start in the month of June, and some of the money would be left from my course to buy me another Mustang and prolly T-34 Mentor. I still feel bad and hurt about my plane.
I'm gonna post the pictures of crash, engine is intact, receiver's cover came out loose, I snapped it back in, so Receiver Electron 6 is working alright, one servo's gone bad, tank's gone bad, battery pack intact. I'm at work now and not much busy today, and I'm gonna keep y'all posted and gonna post crash pix. Pray for me[&o][&o]. 2 brand new plane crashes, but I'm not broken-hearted, I'd continue to fly.

Sorry to hear about your crashes. While they are hard to accept they are part of the hobby though.
I do have on concern. Reusing the receivers without having them checked out. A receiver can easily be damaged in a crash, and many times that damage does not show itself until the plane is subjected to stresses and vibration in flight, this means the receiver may appear to work on the ground but once it's in the air it will fail. Especially if the crash was enough to snap the cover off of the receiver it could have easily damaged the receiver elements as well. Your best bet is to send the receiver in and have it checked before you use it in a plane again. After any crash I always send the receiver in for service before I'll ever use it in a plane again.

Prolly is of course probably, just like heck is used instead of hell, and I forgot to put comma , after prolly. Yes I'm also considering Hangar 9's T-34 Mentor.

The 10 X 7 prop (vs. an 11 x 6) would have made it slower at the top-end but more responsive to throttle changes - like driving your car in third gear instead of fourth. How do you figure that caused you to crash?

1fasthitman-> I guess you are right I'm not ready for the inverted low passes , I had always been comfortable flying inverted and having high altitude passes. Secondly I don't think Mustang has been designed for low passes, I may be wrong.

low inverted passes get UGLY VERY QUICK. imo its one of the scariest manuvers you can do, hovering a few inches off the ground or doing rolling circles 10ft off the ground has nothing on trying an inverted highspeed pass a foot off the ground. the plane naturally wants to go into the ground so if you arnt quick on your toes that is exactly what will happen, and when your not ready for it and going 70+mph you dont stand a chance when your that low. even when going slow the plane stalls different that it would upright and until you are used to it it is a very helpless feeling.

Sorry to hear about your prangs but as some of the others have said it is part of this hobby. If you never fly them you will never crash 'em. My two cents of advice is to get yourself a Multiplex Easy Glider Pro. That way you will always have something to fly as they are difficult to crash and even more difficult to damage and lots of FUN to fly.
I always take an electric glider to the field and even if I have little time to myself in between students I always find time to fly the glider. Thirty to fourty five seconds of motor run can lead to having to spin the model down so you can see it if there is any lift about. Two of my students learnt the basics of R/C flying on a few weekends flying Easy Gliders and progressed to solo on other more demanding models after only a couple of flights on the buddy box.
Select and build/assemble your next choice of model but if you have something like the Easy Glider in your hanger no matter what happens with your other models you will still have something to fly.

Mody, I'd recommend the World Models T-34. It is very stable, aerobatic, and most reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed. Jim

Lesson learned. Desperately waiting to get a new plane, as bills piled up a lot was not working for a month, Thank God, I'm working now. Wife says wait a month until most of the bills have been paid. Gonna celebrate my Bday either this Saturday or Sunday as I'm working.

Guys/Friends Great Flyers, Thank you very much for your such kind words, encouragement and trying to make me cheer up, and I'm trying my best to do it. Only killer is when would I be able to spare money I don't know, having an American wife means money is in her control as of course she wants all the bills to be paid which have been piled up and I would want that as well. It's my 3rd week on this job, and 2nd pay check would be on this Friday. Living paycheck to paycheck, but I'd buy a plane, also some of the money would be left from my college registeration and would be refunded back to me, so I'd be able to use it for my plane in the mid or end of June. No plane to fly until mid or end of June but I'm not gonna give up on it and not gonna stop this great hobby and I'd continue to do it as long as I'm breathing. I'll fly again soon[sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

I'm sure time will pass by very quickly and before you know it you will be flying again. Those were very nice planes and I'm sure your next is going to be just as much fun. This is how we learn. I almost flew straight into the ground with the plane right side up in a high speed low flyby

I had 2 planes, First I bought was Mustang and the other one was Escapade. Escapade got crashed due to receiver's fault, it was bad, and other plane Mustang crashed due to my mistake, so I had 2 planes, now none.

Sorry about the loss. That was one big mess !!! It's part of the hobby, but have a Happy Birthday. Like Crash Campbell, I too take a electric powered glider with me to the field so if I have a problem I'll have some thing to fly. When testing a new plane, I always take two other planes with me if I am going to be at the field most of the day. It's easy for me to say take a couple of planes, I have about 80 planes with 30 ready to fly/crash.

Stall speed has nothing to do with the prop. The stall speed is a function of lift and your wing configuration. Most planes won't continue to fly with the engine at idle speed and if your plane speed falls below what will sustain lift, so no matter what prop you use, if you pull the throttle back to idle and fall below the speed that your wing flys, well, it will stall.
