I believe that the xoar nylon and the evolution props are exactly the same.
Then they'll be worth buying. The composite Evolutions were sold in individual packages which seemed a classy move. And they are very well made. Yet are priced about average.

Has anyone tried running a Xoar electric prop on a nitro four stroke? I have an OS-56a on a little Great Planes Escapade and was experimenting with different props when I unknowingly mounted a Xoar 13x6.5 electric prop and flew it, the performance was unbelievable. I flew it the whole day without realizing it was an electric prop. I'm guessing that was pretty dangerous as electric props are probably not built to withstand the vibration of a nitro motor but the prop never came apart. Just curious if anyone else has had any experience with Xoar electric props on nitro engines.

Thanks,

Tom

I'm going to try a Xoar 18x12 wood prop (non E-version) on my 2000W electric. Currently using 18x12e APC. Supposedly (from a guy who works with APC to develop props), glow props are more efficient at high RPM on bigger motors. If you're using a larger prop at 7000+rpm, the electric APCs start to flex and lose efficiency. 18x12 APC (non E) is quite a bit heavier, so Xoar seems like a good option. Also nice to find them stocked locally (Xoar).

Not sure if it will happen this year though, season is getting short and I have to concentrate on my foamy to make the compulsive purchase worth while

never use electric props on glow. Presume it will fail but you don't know when.
