The GWS 350Cs cant hold up to 3S lipos. move on to brushless motors.

* If possible I would change out to smaller servos (10g or less) an RX.

* Couple of us run 3s TP2100 on 3DX with 12x6 prop, get about 20 flights or more b4 motor burns out. 15-20min flying, hovers, lots of throttle management.

* Prop down to 11x4.7, it will lower the amp draw.

How did everyone know from this post he was using 3S? Are you using 3S or 2S? If 3S, that's probably the reason for the "early" demise of the 350. 2S would provide longer motor life, but less zip. An EPS 400C will stand up longer on a 3S, but isn't much more powerful then the 350 when you factor in the extra weight.

You asked and you answered yourself in the same post. About the only way he could be burning out motors that quick is if he were using 3S li-po's.

yo,

I have a 300 motor, an ICS 100 ESC, and a 8.4v 730 mah battery. Should I use a 1080 propeller or will it pull too many amps.? People say I should try a 9070, should I? If I want more thrust than should I use a 1080 but get a better ESC to handle the amps? Will the motor burn out soon with a 8.4v? I NEED HELP!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

You won't be pulling too many amps. I flew the same setup with no problem for quite a while. If you pull your battery pack out and its to hot to hold, you are pulling to many amps. With this setup it will be quite warm. If you want everything to last longer, go with the 9070. Things will still heat up, just not as bad. Its more a matter of choice. The weakest link in the power system you have is your battery pack. You don't really need to worry about frying your motor, because the 730mah pack doesn't have enough power to do it. So I would say, just check the pack after flight. If its too hot, then go with the smaller prop.

I really don't know how they do it.
I just burned up another 350, running 3S 1500 Lipo, 1147 prop and really gentle on the throttle. My 3DX weighs 13 ounces, but I am still learning to hover so I am not running much WOT.
I ran a motor in, in a glass of water last night to see it that helps (I am skeptical).
I really, really don't want to go brushless.

How about upgrading to an EPS 400C? It adds about 1 oz., but it is more durable than the 350 and will take 3S Lipos with no problem. I have run one on my Slow Stick for 25-30 flights - 5.28 GB, 12x8 HD prop.

Maybe. I have one on my slow stick that i could try. My Lipo might not like the current draw though.

Actually the TP2100 are rated 6C, which is about 12 amps.(Depending on which Web site you read.) I had forgotten that the Kokams were 8C and therefore will take 12 amps also. I mistakenly thought the Kokams were also 6C and therefore only 9 amps.

The GWS EPS400 on a 5.28 gear box only pulls 8 amps off the 3S spinning a 12x8 HD prop. Shouldn't be a problem on Kokams either.

I want to hear how that works out. Can you post a link to that motor?
