Default Shock setup problems

Am I just dreaming to think that some combination of oil weight, springs, and spacers is going to give me the same no-bounce, no bottom out, 3 foot drop that I seen t-maxxes do? The stock oil made the truck's shocks slooooooow. So I switched to 30 weight. Now it responds fater, but it bottoms out big time. I tried spacers, but it made almost no difference. Do I need stiffer springs? I know some people's answer will be to get new shocks altogether, but are the shock ones inacapable of working well?

Try using a heavier shock oil and a stiffer spring. You need to slow the shock down and allow the spring to work. The heavier oil will also help with the rebound so the truck won't bounce as much.
