I don't think I would use brake cleaner on the bearings or carb. I have seen it disolve rubber
o-rings and silicone parts.
Nitro spray cleaner would be about the best if you don't want to use fuel and it is alot cheaper than fuel.

I was wondering, now that the engine is out, I want to take the opportunity to clean my car completely. I sit okay if I take out the electronics and wash it in a tub of water or call that ruin some parts. Also, my friend has a Savage 21 and he hoses his truck down with water with the body on and then lets it dry outside for a few hours. Is that a good idea?

As long as the electronics doesn't get wet it shouldn't hurt anything. Just make sure you spray it with WD 40 or some other water dispersant to keep the oxidization down and to thoroughly dry it.

once in a while i pull my electrics and motor out, and throw the truck in the dishwasher - make sure the misuse is out the house first... uve been warned. it comes out sparkling! but needs a good regreasing, so a good stripdown is still needed anyway. easy and quick, and much nicer to work on.

Okay, I'm washing all of my engine in fuel tommmorrow. Is there anyhting else I need to know. My only concern is the exaust pipe, because of the plastic outside, and the rubber parts on the caraburator.

Fuel comes in contact with the carb and the exhaust whenever you run you truck. The parts you mentioned will be fine. The only problem is going to be an oily residue from the fuel.
I am assuming that you are going to use nitro fuel and not diesel or gasoline. Diesel or gasoline might damage the parts mentioned so you shouldn't use either it is also rather dangerous to use gasoline as a cleaner.

To remove the oil residue you can spray it with nitro wash. Wiping it off with a paper towel will work also. When I did mine I used hot water and dish soap, and then I blew it all off with compressed air to make sure that it was dry. If you don't have an air compressor you should use nitro spay.
Your LHS should have nitro spay.

I personally don't see any damage but it is hard to tell by looking at a picture.
If there is some minor scatches in the case I wouldn't be to worried about it.
Make sure you clean out the bearings really good to remove any possible metal fragments or shavings.

Ok, I finnally got all my parts and planning to rebuild my engine this weekend. THe only thing I'm concerned about is that the caraburator is all oily from washing it in the fuel. Should I clean it out first before using my engine? Also is it a good idea to oil all the parts before putting it all back together?

Yeah, its clean like new, but its all oily from the fuel, is that okay or should I use nitro spray to get it out of the inside and out or should I just leave it all oily

- i dont think i need to explain...
