Default diffs & weight reduction

what weight diff oil is a good recomendation if i want to race my nemesis, on a medium size clay track? i also under stand that if i were to lock the center diff i could remove the front brakes, as to lose some weight, is this the case? anyother rumor i heard that if the correct weight diff oil is in the front diff this will help control the torque steer issues. im definetly losing the sniper tires & big ass rims, planning on adding a high torque steering servo. I already have the servo saver cranked down. still the truck seems uncontrolable.
if anyone knows of other ways to reduce some of the 15lbs, id like to hear it. i have a vantage carbon pipe on the way.
is there a different header that i could use with the .46 engine?

Hi rcnitronutt

You could use Nova racing head ( didn't like it) and crazy nut head and that head is lighter then stock head (not much but some) and it helps alot to keep the temps down.
The vantage pipe is awesome I have one and it's so much lighter then stock!!!!!
Here's a link to crazy nut

they do not have any pics on it.

Here's my pic on crazy nut head, stock head, and nova racing head

ya the crazy nut head is awsome, reduces temp by like 30-40 degrees. got one of those also.

I put the Nova one on and it seemed to be hotter then the original. This is normal right? since it is getting rid of more heat then the stock one. The temp at the glow plug was running about 250-275, so I riched it up a little to get below 250. Might have been do to new terrain and opening it up more. I too have heard about the changing the diff for the torque steer, there is another thread in here but dont have the link to it. My buddies torque steer is worse then mine, and am thinking about adjusting the servo saver for him, but am not definitely sure how and what to do.

Here is what I think I need to do and correct me if I am wrong.

Measure from the bottom of the skid plate to the top of the nut, and do not go more then 5.5 mm, or you have a chance to break it. Is this the right way?

I was thinking about putting 10W in the front diff 30W in center without lock and 10W in rear.
