Guys
Have you seen issues with the one way on the .46 Cen engine? Mine only seem to last 2-3 tanks before they start slipping. I have the roto-start installed but I had the same issue with the pull start, the only dif is the pull start ones would last 3 times as long. I have also replaced the shaft the bearing connects too with no luck as well. This is starting to get expensive.
Thanks

You don't have to replace the bearing if it slips, you could just clean it out. As for it slipping so frequently, are you using a high oil content fuel? Try a different brand maybe..? I have 2.5 to 3 gallons through mine and haven't had it slip yet.

I am using Traxxas 20% fuel, the engine runs alot cooler. I was running Wildcat but the same thing happened as well. I do clean the bearing out but that does not seem to help much either.

When you clean it are you using motor spray or degreaser? The trick is to get all the oil out of the bearing then apply a "light" oil on the bearing. I know it sounds funny but the light oil helps keep the heavy castor oil out. Traxxas fuel does have a high oil content in my opinion, try Byron's Race 2000 or Trinity Monster Horsepower maybe Odonnels.... bashing fuels have a high oil content. Some other things I have seen work are using steel wool to scuff the starter shaft, make sure you scuff it long-ways on the shaft and not around it. Your tune might also be rich, that will put more oil in the bearing. The exhaust gasket might not be sealed well enough, check that. Even simple things like storing the truck so the oil does not run to the back of the engine.
Hope any of this helps......

It's not just high oil content that can cause it, it can be the oil blend. I found blue thunder 30% race blend (8% oil) to be the worst for making my savage's internal one-way slip. Much worse than trinity monster brew (16% oil). Monster brew was bad for it too.
Best i've used for no-slip is Sidewinder 30% race (10 or 12% oil, can't remember which)

michelob78 - thank you for your help. I have used Odonnels but my most use is bashing and using Odonnels caused my engine to run around 300 so I stopped using it. As for cleaning the bearing I would soak it in motor spray, should something else be used? I will try the other suggestions.
Thanks
