Default Wierd Carb Action

Hey Everyone,

Hope you guys can help. I need to know if I need a new carb. Everyone knows that our Nemesis carbs move left to right(horizontally)...well my carb is at times sticking open or closed or somewhere in between because it is rotating up and down(vertically). So is this normal or is my carb done? And what could of caused this if its not normal?

Sounds like the carb pinch bolt needs to be tightend. The carb should not move freely like that.

Its not the entire carb housing thats moving...its the throttle body thats moving. Normal carb movement is in and out, left to right. My carb is doing that fine but at times it moves just like the LS needle does. So if your looking at your low speed needle which turns left to right when you tune it...my carb does the same thing...

yes its normal, whats happening is the idle screw is not positiond in the groove. its a simple fix remove the carb from the engine, take out the idle screw and twist the carb you will see a groove on the carb, that is where the idle screw should sit in. if the idle csrew is not positiond propperly the carb will jam open or closed or not work at all. easy fit its ok

Jumbo thanks for quick answer. Im at work right now so I'll take a look at it when I get home. If this is the problem, I must of backed out the idle screw to far at some point.

Jombo,

Your right, thanks for the help. Silly me...and to think I've been into RC for about 18 years. [:-]
