Default GST 7.7 pullstart

hi guys how long did your pullstart lasted: well i just recieved my gst last friday, broke it in tuned it and i have 9 tanks on it and today when i was going for the 10 th tank my pullstart string broke i didnt even pulled it hard the engine is beginning to wake up and its running awsome starts at 2 pulls, i became some what upset that the string broke so soon [&o] should i give cen a call or should i just buy the rotostart thing but i really think that i should call them.

thanks, arc

The pull starts are usually very strong im into my 2nd gallon and its still fine

all depends on how your using it i suppose, if pulling it straight out it`ll last

but if your pulling it upwards or to the back of the truck it`ll wear out quick

Hey Pal..You must have been pulling upward on your string...Cutting into the housing...You can get a new string from CEN direct some thing like $3.50 dollars plus shipping
It is a small item expendable part...I would not recomend going to roto start until you have 2 gal of fuel used up.If you stay with pull start rub bee's wax
on the string ..It will help and last you a long time...Just my 2 cents worth today..

CEN said one gallon before. I'm sticking with the pull start. Works fast and easy for me, and less damage to the engine.

Ok It came from 2 different hobby shop owners..In different towns..But I asked them if they have any CEN Products ..The Answer was no...
To make a long story short..Each owner said it just would be better if you had 2 gal of fuel ran thru your engine...With the engine
being tight from pinch..and for the piston to wear with the sleeve...It is common to do for most engines...Quote of 2 different hobby shop
owners...I just said until you have a cen products and have did some checking about cen.Maybe your wrong..That is way I said that..I know
as you have read also a lot of owners are having issues with the roto start being installed too so..As you also are a Cen owner...
So if there is some confusion on this ..Then less get this stright when a owner should install a roto start for these big engines..

CEN Clearly recommends 1 gallon then roto-start, you can put it in anytime you want. but if you want to void your warranty then put it in before the 1 gallon

Thats pretty clear in ALL CEN's literature and manuals
