Question:
Would not the profile be off because the outboard side of the rib tip template is 1/4" wide?
Does anyone use this technique today with success?

Brian,
I've done this with 1/16" plywood and it wasn't too bad, but 1/4" would definitely change things quite a bit. With the 1/4" ply you would have to make the tip rib smaller to compensate or taper it.
