David

I was thinking more literal as in just the case, and using one of Andy’s New sticks.
Basically taking a New existing computer radio and fitting it into the case.
I want everything I have today plus plus.

Andy,
PCM-only is also my feeling after Looking over some paperwork on the radio.
I always flew on PCM vs just FM since it was available so, I never begged the question of PPM in this radio.
Indeed useless for me except for the case to build on.

E-mail on the way.

Just got the word back. The 9 PCM will only do PCM. Guess you'll just have to send me that old radio now

Yep, You might say PCM is a "propriertary code" and not useable to us for 2.4. Unless the Tx is PPM/PCM selectable (which the 512 PCMs were not, at least that I know of). Ditto to doing a MS2K in a JR, I had a C7 and a PCM G9 and the best I though to do with either was to gut it and replace the innardswiththe 8303 guts! With the 512 PCMs, there are only a few Rx's that are compatible and they seem to be getting more difficult to find. I have a few, but am pretty much sold on 2.4 at this point. Let's hear/have some more ideas here! I anxiously await Andy H's Lucky 7; would be great to build my own custom Lucky 7 with 8 or 9 channels and switches within easy reach of 5five fingers too!.

Okay Guys, JR 9 PCM SS is just useless except for the Nice case.

Mark, I’m going to need more info on the Lucky 7?

Yes, Paul, terribly useless. You shouldn't waste your valuable storage space on such a useless item.

I, on the other hand, have lots of room for storing useless items. Ship it to me, and I won't even charge you a dumping fee to dispose of it in an eco-friendly way.

But Andy,

Both are just in Boxes sitting on a shelf for years since I retired them.

What would I put in their place?

One was a backup that never even was used.

I always buy a backup radio with every model purchased.

I even have a Brand New 10X that was a backup.

I have an unused 10X sitting in my office.

I think you should replace them all with a DX8 or two.

Guys, Please feel free to donate your unwanted/used/neglected 10X or other modern computer radio to "HISS'F" ("Hook's Ideal Single Stick' Foundation")

Paul, visit the following liknk: http://andysrecroomrc.blogspot.com/ and you can take it to Andy's site and see the L 7 in progress.

Although I use my C7 quite a bit, I get pretty envious when I watch the guys at the field toggling their way through changes and set-ups on their 10Xs, 9303s 9503s, DX7 or 8s, etc. My MP8K is a great radio too, and it has many awesome features, but it's not real intuitive (I carry the QR guide in my wallet), but hey it is a SS and it does work well. Long live the "SS" (single stick for those that would think elsewise).

Mark,
If I had only Known a while back you were interested in a used 10x or 9303 for using it to build a Single Stick.
I would have liked to see how you would have gone about it.
It would have been easier just to follow, if you know what I mean.
