Indeed it is. Does anyone know where I can buy these plans? I did some searching on Model Builder and came up empty...

Thanks,
Mark

The nice thing about digital plans is that you can play with them.

How about a double taper stretched to a 72" span?

The Mama Mia has a striking similarity to the Dirty Birdy 2+2. Not exact but close.

Dirty Birdy vs. Mama Mia. Yes, the scale is correct.

I thought the Momma Mia was smaller than the Dirty Birdy 2+2? Momma Mia is 70" long the DB 2+2 is 75" long.

That would be the original DB fuse, not the 2+2 version.

So the original DB fuse is over six feet long and longer than the Mama Mia?

Oh, you meant the drawing was to the scale of the original Dirty Birdy. Ok got it.

I hope not... I meant the one in Dave's picture comparison is the original DB fuse. The 2+2 is much larger.

Edit: We have duelling edits going on...I see you sorted it as I hit post.

Sorry to confuse. My last image is of the original DB compared to the Mama Mia. I don't have the 2+2 plans.[]

Without pulling the plans out I think the wingspan is around 80".

Hello pilots:

Does anyone of you know how can I contact Joe Bridi?

We want to have a National Pattern contest in México at the end of the year, all the airplanes in the event will be kaos 40 or kaos 60 , we are going to decide wich one.

We plan to make this event in tribute to Joe Bridi and we want him to be there.

Can you help me with this?

Txs to all you.

No. The Dirty Birdy shown in the illustration is the original .60 powered Dirty Birdy (bottom), even though some were talking about the DB 2+2.

Here's one that some of you might have heard about but never seen. I hoped that
it was going to be something like the Escape or DB/UFO when I first got wind of it.
The Dirty Bridy wing is what it use.

Will

There was a note to look out for the kit in one of Joe Bridi's kits booklet back in
82 but it was never kitted. I think very few people may have this plan. Joe Bridi
must have cut most of the plans up and used them as packing for his other kits.
I found half of this plan in a Escape kit I ordered from him in 83. I got this set off
ebay just after his retirement.

Has anyone built the 40 size Alpha (circa 1980) which was featured in Model Aviation Plan #296?

Looks like something created to be 'different' enough after the great planes sell off. Utter chaos and others appear similar. No retracts.

I have to make a correction here. The AMA plan data base lists this as a Bridi design but it was designed by an aeronautical engineer, Dominic Palumbo. He does credit the fuselage lines as being similar to Joe Bridi's UFO design. Kind of looks part Kaos (tail) and part UFO.

I looked up the AMA data base and the designer is not listed. I'm wondering how I got the impression it was a Bridi Design. Still a nice looking design though.

Me again. I have a bridi Deception. the next step after the super kaos I think. It is a great flyer, I have had it since mid 70s cant recall when I built it. It was my first pattern ship. Dave brown retracts, Webra 61 speed, tuned pipe. (I would have put the pipe in the fuse, but I already had the side pipe, and side ex. webra. Still performed well. I took a lot of time building it. Very straight. set up exactly as the plans. except I added retracts and nose wheel doors that all operate from one servo. (mechanical). I have modified it for a Y.S. 1.20 . Still working the bugs out of it, a couple of years ago. have not flown it yet. I have to brush up on my skills again before I fly it with the new engine. I dont know if you can find any info on it but its a nice plane.[sm=shades_smile.gif]

Actually the Deception was a Jim Kimbro design, a feature build in Model Airplane News September 1978. It was just kitted by Bridi Designs in the late 70's. This design came after Bridi's own the dirty birdy and ufo models.

I am quite confuse now.... what was Joe Bridi's response to the EU1 that impressed him so much? XLT? Escape? Mamma mia?
Which design would be more adequate for turnaround?

BTW, I still believe the RCM Advanced Trainer 60 is the best trainer you could get. No matter what else I am flying, I always have one of those around for fun.

Thanks to all, the forum is great.
