RE: looking for a phoenix 8
ORIGINAL: Wagner24314 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4r-DKUo_Y8 check this out i have a cleaner airframe by far but a 1/3 less power Sure thing, the P8 has a much more aerodynamic fuse. I'm wondering about the wing though. I think it might present a model with an overall higher drag index than that Jackal. With 10s his model must be pretty heavy. The battery's got to be a trial and error thing. Breaking the 200 mph mark will be a challenge for models like these. I checked out the 400 mph gliders as well... hard to believe. David. |

RE: looking for a phoenix 8
Great news Devin. Do you have any idea how fast your rocket (I mean plane) flew??????:D
David |
RE: looking for a phoenix 8
it took off at 1/4 power and i didnt push it past 1/2 but it flew nice
|
RE: looking for a phoenix 8
flight two was great. flew it at full power all gear doors closed and i gave it legs. i climbed up and rolled it over in to a split s and the speed came on very fast then pulled in to a huge loop and it didnt appear to slow down a bit. iwas very suprised on how quiet the plane is at those speeds. you hear the prop but the plane is quiet
i bet this is the worlds first EP P-8 |
RE: looking for a phoenix 8
Would love to see a video of it flying (hint, hint);)

Looks great. The decals dress the plane up nicely. Would love to see video of the retracts functioning. I like the enclosed idea.

Hi Wagner24314,
What prop do You use? Have You measured the rpm on full throttle on the ground? Did You lengthen the landing gear to get better prop clerance? What is total weight now? /Bo |

RE: looking for a phoenix 8
Hi,
Can You describe the sound level when flying? - At full throttle - At lower rpm Anything people could be anoyed about (like high whining sound from the prop)? I was thinking about how an electricclassic pattern like this would be welcome at an ordinary RC club from sound level point of view. I wonder what a decibel meter would read if You measured on the ground at full rpm. /Bo |
RE: looking for a phoenix 8
its not any louder then a 40 glow and when back on the power its very queit
