However, to return to my model BE2e, here is a picture of the lead which I melted into a sardine tin. You can still see the shape of it quite easily! The kit has an under-cowling made of glass-fibre. I secured the lead to the under-cowling with silicon and a single bolt before fitting the assembly back into place using slightly larger wood-screws. This way if I need to add or remove lead it will be a fairly simple job. I will glass it permanently into place once I'm satisfied with things.
The second picture show the model inverted on the workbench. The forward piece of black Solartrim is at 12.5cms from the upper wing leading edge, the suggested balance point. At this point the model balances slightly nose-down. The other pieces of black trim show the c/g range as shown on the plan.
I'm not sure whether to test-fly the model myself or to give it to the best pilot in the club. This will involve binding a Mode 1 transmitter to the model but it's an idea.

Temaster sales measure from the cg to the tail & from the cg to the prop back plate. Determine the ratio example
3 to one. So with this ratio for every ounce of tail weight you need 3 ounces of nose weight.
Judging from your data your plane is really tail heavy.
I had the same problem with the current airplane i am building.
I was able to lighten the tail assembly by reducing the size of the wood & lighter wood for the structures.
I saved having to add 1& 1/2 pounds of let to the nose.
I would be interested in you aircrafts total weight without fuel happy flyinh
would love to visit old warden air base some day. Trainermaster80 frankie the 88 yr old modeler.

the other thing is you did not say what the weight of the lead was , but if is more than a pound I would try to fit it to the fire wall rather than into the fiber glass chin piece.
But the above is just my way and good luck

Thank you gentlemen. The model weighs 4.66kg or about 10.27lbs. The lead is 495 grammes or about 17.5ozs. The c/g-nose-to-tail ratio is 2.53.
I will keep the lead in its existing position for the time being. I've decided that I'm going to fly it myself, I've flown biplanes before and if I can get it down in one piece with the c/g way to the rear, I should be able to manage.
I will be using a Spektrum DX9 transmitter. the rates are set at 60% but there are no recommendations on the plan for elevator, rudder or aileron movements. I'll see if I can find the old magazine!

In Disney's 1967 animated film "The Jungle Book", Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear take Mowgli the boy to the man-village for his own safety. Mowgli does not want to go in, but sees and is smitten by a pretty young girl. Baloo has some advice for him: "Stay away from them, kid! They ain't nothin' but trouble!"

Look for the Bear necessities the simple bear necessities, Forget about your worries and your strife...
One of my favorite movies growing up. My kids have the Jungle Book stuffed critters too. I still have the LP from when it was first released, and the story goes that when my grampa took me to see it, and it was my first time in the movies, I apparently stood up and yelled who the hell turned off the lights.

This is just the usual beach nearby, the jetty is Sebastian inlet, fishing is fantastic this time of year. Many privately owned but very clean motels are $40 a night along Riverside Dr., with a pool. Sebastian has an RC club of course, on the same short road just before the flying field, is a county pool with big slides for the kids. (Drop off family, go fly 2 hours, pick family up.) It's not Disney world, but way cheaper and more beautiful.
We do have a winter, it goes down to 30 and makes headline news, they tell you to put a bed sheet over palm trees to prevent frost from damaging the branches, it's near the end of January or 1st week in February that starts on Wednesday and ends by Saturday at 2pm. Funny thing is every afternoon it's at least 65-70 for a few hours.
Anyone that decides to fly in, I'll let you borrow a plane and fishing rod for the day.

Took the BE2 out on Saturday but could not start the engine. I suspect that the flight-box battery had gone a bit flat. Charged it up overnight but we had thick fog fog all day yesterday, couldn't see 100 metres up the road. Seeing that I am living 1200 feet above sea level it was probably low cloud, be that as it may, it's impossible to fly a model aeroplane in thick fog! The weather's the same today.

Thats not as bad as a frozen water heater. Had that happen a few times, and had to replace one of them as it sprung a leak. I have on demand heaters, and when the wind hits just right, it blows past the door and down the flue, and the upper coils can freeze.

I have issues with iron, but haven't had calcium issues. The iron is a PITA as everything turns brown when the softener/iron removal needs a regen. The worst is the funky smell from our one 30 gallon electric heater when we let the softener go too long without regenerating. Have to pour bleach into it and let it sit for a while.

Perhaps AMA Models can help you. http://picclick.ca/Airtronics-JETFIR...729116664.html
If not, and if you are an inexperienced builder, I would contact your local model flying club. There are bound to be experienced builders amongst the greybeards who would be only too keen to help you to build it.
It looks like a nice model which should be a delight to fly. It looks like a straightforward model to build too.
