Donny, you mention earlier that you thought people were burning out on this thread. I started looking this morning at the 5 forums I subscribe to. They are "Kit Building", "RC Scale Aircraft", "Scratch Building, Aircraft Design 3D/CAD", "Golden Age, Vintage and Antique RC", and "RC Warbirds and Warplanes".Of those 5 one had and update today, one was updated yesterday, one on 10/7 an two on 10/5. I am starting to think its RCU as a whole. From what I can see things aren't any better at RC Groups or RCMF (UK forum).
I purchased three 680 KDS digital servos they look brand new but my searching showed they are from China and have been around for quite sometime for helicopters. the data shows them to be fast and strong, I want to use them in a plane, does anyone have any knowledge of these servos, being a bit aged makes no difference to me except parts availability. I have a lot of old servos that work just fine. ..........................................lemmeno.

OK true confession here!
One of my major weaknesses ........... Finding out what's inside. Yeah, I love to try and fix everything. my wifes crock pot sparked it's guts out last night and sent me into my patch up mode we've had the thing close to forty years so my wife insisted we trash it. I want to tear it down. That said, look at the pic's here....................It won't upload, this is frustrating! It took forever but here it is. my old digital camera It malfunctioned and wouldn't focus Yep! I tore it down and to my amazement I found a treasure trove of goodies...switches- sensors-LCD screen- tiny little motor- lenses- and electronics far beyond my understanding. my imagination runs rampant everytime I look at it. the flash would make a mean strobe.
My shop is loaded with stuff like this, Computer hard drives send me up the walls the components are fantastic. I love to tinker with this stuff but my big drawback is I have very little knowledge of the electronics................HELP!

I odered two cables for the glow plugs of my Laser 150 V Twin from the French supplier Weymuller. These arrived promptly in a box measuring 22 x 16 x 12 cms or about 8.25" x 6" x 4.75."I can compost the box or use it to light the fire but what do I do with the Storopack?

The boxes I usually toss, but the air bags I find come in handy. I also use them in the shop, and work great when I want to scare the crap out of a kid or two (or wife)

Never happen, very cautious to make sure no knives or cast iron pans are in hand when I do it. Besides, I found all I have to do is walk quietly into a room to scare the wife.

Thanks for the suggestion. I drove up to Graves RC this morning. What a nice hobby shop. Reminds me of Orange Blossom Hobbies in Miami. They had everything. Graves is the same. They had some nice thick blocks of balsa. I didn’t buy any balsa this time. Spent some cash there on other things. I got to see, first time, Real Flight simulator. Seems like a good to have item. I just use RC apps on my iPad for now. I don’t think I have a capable PC for the simulator. I got enough glow fuel to last me a while. I will have to make Graves RC a must visit on my future Florida trips.
I-10 is now open both directions. I will make the drive home Sunday. There should be less traffic, maybe. Looking forward to that cool Texas weather. It will be great flying weather.

I usually pack too much to try to haul a fragile airplane. I’m thinking of maybe a smaller electric Coroplast profile airplane to bring down. Saw what may have been a free plan for one. Will have to check it out. They can take a beating. My SPAD Debonair is still flying after a few mishaps. Thanks.

Having said that I got rid of five two strokes to a young man who has just joined the club. By that I mean that he is young compared to me, he's thirty-two, a father and a former Legionaire. I gave him a Merco 35 because I could not get it to run satisfactorily. I charged him 40€ (£35.25 Sterling or $46.36 US,) for a 25cc Super Tigre with a Super Quiet exhaust and let him have a K&B 65 Sportster and a Super Tigre 40 for two bottles of Beaujolais Villages. Sound engines but that's all they're worth these days!
I actually received three bottles of Beaujolais Vilages because he was late in getting them to me.
