Aeroworks contacted me last year about using my scheme on a new plane coming out- it was just posted on their website. Colors are reversed and blue is lighter but I like it. They did a nice job on the plane- the lines look good.

That looks really cool. Congrats. Any info/details that you could share about it. For example, is this your personal design? How did they select your scheme? Did people submit schemes for consideration or did they notice yours and said "we want that scheme!"

It's a bit convoluted but here's the story. A fellow in Ohio saw my scheme and asked me if he could use it on his plane. He did two planes- same scheme but one had the blue and orange reversed. Aeroworks saw his plane and contacted him about using the scheme. He sent them to me and they sent me a message about using it.

I'm fairly sure that plane is called a "Cri Cri" or something like that. There are a whole bunch of them running around in Europe, some of them use a pair of model-size turbines for power. Which would make them the smallest twin jets out there.
Pretty cool.

That thing looks like a tuna can with wings on it and I wouldn't step foot in that without a chute on. LMAO, it looked like it had two Saito's hangin off the front of it. That guy had some Kahuna on him to fly that bird...
I would rather fly this first..check it out.......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dST-a5IU_h4

RE: FSA Clubhouse
I've seen the wing video before, and yeah, that looks like an amazing amount of fun. The jet boots, on the other hand, looks like a really good way to get killed to me.
Both seem like the kind of thing that would show up in a Bond movie and cause half the audience to think it was all special effects .

RE: FSA Clubhouse
Here are the other 2 thingies for the tail. I have yet to decide on what or how the wing struts are going to work. I might just use the old ones. Is there a special way or anything with the fuel tank and an inverted engine? There is no shelf for the tank to sit on. I do not think it is suppose to sit on the bottom of the fuse. Great more parts to make. At this rate I could have bought the kit, instead of fixing up a 13 year old plane. Live and learn.

Jorden, I want one of those things. I do think I might excede the weight limit by a few ounces.[X(]

RE: FSA Clubhouse
Looks great. So, two questions about the panel.
1) are you going to change the sequence each year?
2) will Kurt's plane get a more complicated sequence, or does he also get the sportsman?

RE: FSA Clubhouse
Cool detail. Having that sequence there is a nice touch. I have not seen that before. Not that I have seen that many big planes anyway.
Was mounting the sequence one of your unique ideas? Do full scale aerobatic pilots post the sequence there as well? Either way, cool idea!

Thanks guys...
Kirk,
I could change it if I want to, the panels are removable and
so are the boards.
Kurt gets sportsman also!
Sam,
Not my idea, here is one cockpit with the board and one without.

2008 sportsman.
I had to edit it and squeeze it down a little to fit. I was slacking
off.... didn't take the time to do the math and make the board
40% of 8.5x11.

RE: FSA Clubhouse
Well, you would only want 40% of 8.5x11 if the cards in the full scale were actually that size. It looks smaller in the photo, but it's hard to tell.

RE: FSA Clubhouse
Hey guys, I have a question. Yea, suprise there. Does it matter if my fuel tank is more than 1/4-3/8in below the spray bar on my Cub? I'm running an inverted K&B 61. If I leave it where it is now, the center line of the tank is about 5/8-1.0in below the bar. I just need to know if I should build some sort of a shelf for the tank to sit on.

Who's going to the wram show? It looks like one of the guys who said he wanted to go up with me can't make it, and the weather looks iffy. Anyone looking for a ride up, or anyone have an empty seat?

RE: FSA Clubhouse
Getting the tank higher will help, but it's probably not necessary. The biggest issues you get with a tank being a bit low involve situations where you have marginal fuel draw to begin with. What engine did you say you are using? If it's one with good fuel draw, then it will matter less. And it IS a cub, so extended inverted flight and high-G forces aren't something you're going to be doing a lot of. Tank placement is important in those cases, but for flying around it's not nearly as big a deal, and it doesn't sound like the tank is all that low.
That said, if it's not a problem to lift the tank, you might as well do it. It will make setting the mixture easier, the needle settings will be less "touchy".
