Hey just wondering what you guys are using to edit video to add music into the background? It would be better if its a "free download" version for now, but maybe if its easy to do I will purchase something. I have plenty of video but no sound with my one digital camera. I have Roxio Easy Creator 6 for photo software, Windows Media Player.... Please help...
Thanks

Windows Movie Maker is excellent. However, it will not handle writing to a DVD.
I upgraded to Roxio Media Creator 7, and it handles everything and I mean everything. You might want to take a look at the Roxio site and compare what you have with the new version.
The only thing you can't do is copy a commercial dvd.

I use Pinnacle Systems Studio 9. Well worth the $100.
It allows you to incorporate stills, mp3's, rip CDs and if you go for the Plus upgrade, Chromakey and Picture In Picture. I have messed with Windows movie maker and Adobe Premiere. The former was too crude and limited and the second requires you to be a full time video editor to get the best usage. Probably the best but WAY too complicated and involved for the amateur video dude like me.
All the videos on my site were made with some version of Studio. I think I started with version 7.

If your just getting started and doing video for the web then I would go for the free stuff. Like windows movie maker found [link=http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/21/intro.mspx]here.[/link] I tried some commercial stuff, but that was before the hardware could really handle it. Now a days I would rather spend my money on the planes. You can check out what I've done on [link=http://www.killerrc.com/videos.html]www.killerrc.com/videos.html[/link] The oldest on the bottom and my skills were weak, the newest ones are on top with background music and lots of editing. All done with Windows Movie Maker!

It's all about the Mac and iLife. With a 10 minute lesson, your six-year olds will be producing blockbusters. The hardest thing about creating movies on a Mac is shooting good quality video first.
I use Apple's pro apps like Final Cut and DVD Studio pro, but the Macs' included iLife programs; iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto and iTunes is so complete, and interact so well together that it's almost scarry.
Check it out, I'm sure you'll agree.
Now my question is, how do I take a Mac created QuickTime movie and have a duplicate copy made in WMV format? What app for the PC wil do this? I'd like to offer both formats on the web.
Yes, I know that most of you are not going to rush out and buy a new Mac system just because you want to make creating an RC video easier...but you should :-)

The windows Movie Makewr that comes with Windows XP is the first version, all you have to do is download the update and it's a great tool to use. I use it ahead of adobe even, unless there is something specific that i need from adobe.

SDCrashmaster, try Discreet Cleaner 6. Available right for your macintosh and will do just that task, among a few hundred others of course.

If you are trying to post the video to rcu I don't think they support video on their servers. You would have to get a third party hosting site and post the video out there and provide a link to it on RCU. If you want to use a free service go to putfile.com and I think they allow up to 10mb free.
As far as video editing goes, get the pinnacle systems plus. It is the best software that I have tried. A few months ago I was in the same boat as you wondering which program should I get, windows is good if you just want something to do basic editing, adobe premiere is the best if you are looking for a psuedo professional setup, as well as a few others I tried out. Pinnacle was the best of the bunch. The little extra features really is kind of nice.
