Just when I thought I'd seen it all, Chris Plum sent me these photos of superskids on his BCX. I have no idea how he did it.

Man, he has DUB 22" skids on the BCX.

LMAO!!!!!

It looks sick with the hops ups!!!!! That is the best looking BCX I have ever seen.

I wonder how it flies with the extra weight?????

He has quite a model shop [link=http://www.jetstaraviation.com]www.jetstaraviation.com[/link]. He makes those hangers that are in the picture, among other things. He said it flies great and he doesn't even feel the weight.
I have a Lama2 also, but I've never tried to put the superskids on it. I don't know if the mounting is done the same on the Lama and BCX. It's kind of embarrassing for me, in my position, that I didn't think of this first

btw, that bcx is sweeeeeeet
and ya, have you guys with the eflight bh on your bcp tried to switch the fixed link (the one going from the blade grip to the swash) with an adjustable one? wonder what other tunning possibilities is that gonna make?

darn it!![:@]
my tail rotor gear split in half, dunno why, but i wasnt flying so high so i managed to dump it into the grass without much damage, only a bented mainshaft (again)!!! i was about 10 ft. then it spun around suddenly and then gone nose in and dump itself into the grass before i can do anything. dunno why the tail gear could split like that. i guess im a lucky person

Bob,

My bird is good. I have also slown down a bit too. Getting ready to move to florida in a few weeks so I can't let the ole heli hurt the wallet. I am just playing with the pitch right now. Seems as though I am having to give more throttle than I remember to get her in the air. The blades track fine, but the pitch links are almost all the way in. I guess I will figure it out. Good luck with yours though.

If the pitch links are turned all the way in thats probably your problem. By tightening the linkages youre adding negative pitch.Thats gonna make it REAL hard to get any good lift. Too much positive pitch is also bad. I just bought a pitch guage 2 days ago and my pitch was waaayyyyyy off. Didnt look bad by eye but it was bad.

Do any of you know of a good (reliable, wont explope) lipo alternative to the factory branded 800 mah lipos currently offered for the CP Pro? It just seems like there are a lot of less expensive alternative brands out there, Im just new and dont know which brands are cheaper but still of fair quality. Id like one with a balanced charge lead and at least 800mah, perhaps more though. Thanks, this heli thing has really bitten me hard, only had my Pro for a week and Im addicted!!

Yah I use T Power too. Theyre awesome batteries. Only problem is that they arent the cheapest batteries out there. I think Electrifly makes cheaper lipos and they must be pretty good quality cuz the rest of their products are nice.
Another good battery is made by Dualsky. The name on it is Power. Very nice battery and theyre cheaper too. I only paid 60 bucks for a 1700 MAH for 1 of my planes.

Wow, i found a pro lite t power 910mah for 35.99, but does that include a jst connector for my cpp and will that 4pin balancing connection work with my 3cell lipo balance charger that came with my pro? I already have another 800mah eflite batt on the way but it was quite a bit but still cheaper than my lhs. just trying to get the most bang for my buck.

I just remembered GWS has real cheap batteries. I actually seen them like a week ago. Im almost positive they were only 30 buks for a 12 or 1300 mah. Quite possible I seen it on HeliDirect but I forget. Ill keep searching tonight and see if I cant find them.

Im actually going to the 3 in 1 setup in a couple weeks and going brushless.
You can and you can't. The HH gyro is a drop in by turning the gain off on the 3-in-1, however to go brushless you have to add a BL esc. If you want a BL tail, that's two BL esc's. Now I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing, but going BL I'd just use all separates since you have to add it all anyway. The only advantage to using the 3-in-1 for BL is for people without their own radio because the mixing is preprogrammed. With your own Tx you don't use the mixing anyway. I would like to be wrong on this because the Horizon site says absolutely nothing about what it takes to go BL, but any info I've found on the threads says you need separates.

James....Anywhere near the other Jacksonville? Love to hook up and fly[8D] I'll be there this weekend.

Synister....You can pick up the unmarked 1100's from Heli direct for around $20. I've been using them for around six months and love them. One caution though. They are only 7C so you wouldn't want them for any 3D, but if you're only playing around with normal flight or in the house they're perfect (and cheap). I just got a 2200 hextronic in today from unitedhobbies.com. Haven't flown on it yet, but for $29 it was cheap and should be perfect for the blade if I can't use it in my rex. I have been using Apex 2300's in my rex, they were 2/$99 (All of these lipos have the balance plug). The main thing I would suggest is a good charger, not a cheapy. I personally feel that's the reason I've had such success with all my lipos.

Just so you other guys don't feel left out, I started with 2s TP's and still use them in my smaller heli and my planks. (going on two years of steady use)

Don't worry about the bird, unless it's the freedom bird. I am having about the same
thing with New blades. It's another fine line kinda thing , I Guess ? I can hear the
head speed slow down with cyclic input (topped off batt.) I have to say the new
set of blades balanced the best of any I've BOUGHT. so far. Stay in touch Brother

Thanks for all the batt tips, im going to follow up on them and see what i cant find. As for my charger, heh, well a guy at my lhs suggested a computer power source, basically a 12vdc 6amp unit used inside of the mini tower of pretty much all pc's. Only problem was when i bought it ($10) it had about a million wires coming out of it. I took it to him and for free he removed all the wires, put in a pos/neg female plug and an on/off swith so my alligator clips just clip right on. Its a smart unit too, in conjunction with the lipo charger, if they detect anything they dont like they just shut down. I paid $15 for the whole setup, the guy did the electrical work for free and now i can upgrade to a trex or bigger elect heli using whatever mah batt i want (as long as its 11.1v) and my power unit will be just fine. curious though, since im new and dont know, when you purchase new batts, do they come without any connectors? My pro needs a jst and i was wondering if i needed to get creative with a soldering iron or how that works to make your battery recommendations work. I would really like to avoid shorting something. Thanks a ton!!

It depends on the battery. Some sites allow you to choose the connectors, some come with no connectors, and others just have 1 type or another.

Just make sure when you buy it that you ask for the jst connector. If they don't have it, then go to some other site that does (vote with your feet as they say)

Also, if you don't have any experience soldering, etc. You should get some help from someone who does before trying it on a lipo. If you short the wires, even for an instant, it can cause a terrible fire, or at least ruin the battery. It can be quite dangerous, and is not the place to be learning how to solder, IMO...

Well Ive been doin some checking and think its best just to stay with the good ol dual tail motor mod instead of a brushless tail motor. If I go to BL tail then I need to toss the 3 in 1 and Stock TX. The 3 in 1 is a plug and play setup for a brushless motor(with an esc) but not for the tail.
With all the tail motor issues you think Horizon wouldve came up with another option.
My mount from helidirect should be here soon I hope.Lookin forward to trying out the dual tail.

The order process from my LHS kinda blows. I ordered the parts for my BL setup on Tuesday, he places the order on Thursday, and they dont arrive until the following Thursday.Greathobbies carried everything I needed for like 5 bucks more including 3 day shipping but I hate like heck NOT to give my business to the locals. Now Ive only really got into RC since last Xmas and dropped about 5K since then at this guys shop so when I go in with a 200 dollar order you think he could at least give me quicker shipping. Kinda sucks.
OK done venting. Now I think Ill go complain to my wife lol

I hear ya about giving business to the locals. However, with the advent of the internet, having just a store front is not practical anymore. They have to adapt. Any LHS that does not also have a good online business is doomed

The same is true for many other businesses...

Hello all. I have a question. I was flying the cp today and i noticed that its making a loud sound from the blades. Like you cant hear the motor as much but the blades make like a thumping sound. Like the other 3d helis do during a quick 3d manuever or a fast manuever it goes ilke thump thump thump. The blades are not too tight on the grips i have them like ive always had them, i can hold the heli sideways and they wont fall but i can move them with my hand pretty easy. Could it be that i have too much pitch on the blades or something? Thanks!
