basically they are pretty much same quality battery but I am suggested by the manufacture to carry only the 15C continuous discharge rate batteries, not only to have more power but also the quality of the battery itself.
So with only 1usd more, you get 15C battery instead of 10C battery. Mega Power is awesome in power. I put it in my Blade CX and Lama 3 and every time i swift the thottle, you can feel the power to lift the heli is much stronger than stock one and the heli responds faster.

Neil, here is a 900 mAh LiPo for $16 DN brand. I don't know how good they are but IIRC there is plenty of info if a search is done.

I agree with that! The Mega Power packs seem to last an eternity with the CX! And you don't get continuous performance loss with them, they perform 100% straight until the end! I love them!

Hello there, well up until now I was mainly into nitro trucks......but i picked up a CX2 a few days ago and all I can say is WOW.
Great fun. I will be reading as much as I can on here to try and school myself on flying and upgrades. I have already put in an upgraded inner shaft and I just ordered a
mega power battery and a carbon fiber boom and skid kit.
So far I have only hovered around the living room and already gone through a few sets of lower blades.........but im getting better.
I look forward to following this thread and learning what I can. Are there any other threads that I should keep my eye on??

The "Blade CX-2" thread is the main thread on the CX2. Any help you need you'll be sure to find there! Also, several other threads pop up every now and then on the CX2 asking specific questions, those are good reads. This thread is a good watch for aftermarket upgrades and mods as well as problems arising from said upgrades and mods. And if you have any important questions you can start a new thread asking for help. Anyway, welcome to the world of R/C helis!

... I have 3 trucks and got a Blade CX2 from my ex, and all I can say is WOW!! If I knew how much fun Helis were I would not have spent so much on my trucks (2 elect. 1 nitro)... I dig this Heli, wish they made scale bodies for the CX2...
Tell me does this battery for 16 bucks performe like the 3 cell even though its only 2 cells ?? I'm a newbie...

megapack is 2 cell battery, the thing is that you can use 3 cells batteries but you might smoke your receiver, i own 3 of them and they perform more than twice better than the stock battery, they dont even get hot!! and i do loads of aggressive moves!!
you can keep the heli in the air the whole back without any sudden lack of power like eflite stock batts

ok for those talking about the Mega Pack 7.4V 15C
here they are, please forgive the quality since they were taken
with my cell phone cause i couldnt find the camera's cable lol
but i got few angles so you guys can compare the sizes of them
i even wrote numbers on them [8D] so i wont confuse, and i took the pics
of the way they ship them so you can see they really care about the way
they package the batteries, the box was flawless and came 1 day sooner than
shipping said
, so i have no complains after 2 purchases with helidirect
plus im showing the RC Heli magazine, great deal!!! 25 bucks for 12 issues!!!
final report about mega pack
-they last longer than eflite ones
-they dont get hot!!!!!, the eflite ones can get so hot after 30seconds thats why they force you
to land and wait a sec or two before you can fly again
-they fit the stock battery tray 100%
-the discharge cable its longer and more flexible than stock battery
-THEY ARE CHEAPER!!!!!
this is a no brainer so what are you waiting for??

Hey all,
Nice site. I have been flying 3d foamies for a while, had my cx2 for about 2 weeks now, very strong bird, dropped from 10m outside with no damage, tipped over taking off, broke the stabaliser head. I have ordered an extended inner shaft, do I really need the extended outer shaft to fly, will the inner still run ok. You guys that are running the extended inner shaft, have you adjusted your servo throws, I am sure it is more responsive, does this increase the likely hood of blade strikes even with the extra long shaft?? I have flown mostly outside, and it flys a treat, I have been looking everywhere for some nice straight flights, top speed, that sort of thing, but haven't really found any, so I will post my own when I have the new shaft installed.
Regards
Paul.
