Ok, so I went to fly on FS One tonight, the church is having some board meeting or something so I can't get into the gymnasium to practice.

I was flying the CP for a while and was getting progessively more irritated at it for it's lack of realism compared to my Pro.

I created a custom aircraft based on the CP and changed the following -

S75 servos (it's an option in the drop down box, I don't know why it wasn't a stock setting)
11.1v to ESC (to replicate a LiPo)
Changed AUW to real life Pro actual, to simulate LiPo even further.
Changed Servo Travel distances, this you will have to experiment with to get as close as possible to your live heli.

After making these changes, I saved the new Heli as a CP Pro, and MAN what a difference.

This thing actually flies like my real one now, with the funky tail and everything. At high speed and in some 3D maneuvers, the tail will totally cut out, just like the real thing. The simulator used to aggravate me because it would give me a bit of false confidence at first.

When I was first attempting 3D, I thought it would be just like the simulator, and low and behold, the tail gave out it's hold during an inverted piro and I nearly lost the bird.

Now, with 11.1v to the ESC, the tail behaves just like the real thing, and actually, it's a little less forgiving than the real one, which means it's better for rainy day practice.

This is the first time I had picked up FS One since about October-ish, since I've been flying almost daily now, and I think I will definitely be pounding away at this new heli I made when I don't feel like packing up all my crap to head to the field or the gym.

BTW - Because of the servo settings, the Bell/Hiller head that the FS One CP is missing does not seem to be a problem, I corrected for it with higher speed servos who don't have to move as far and it seems to have done the trick.

Hope this helps you guys who use FS One for your blades!

If you take the Pro in Clearview and crank up the motor speed and put the servo % to 60 instead of 40, it becomes at least "semi-lifelike." Anything above 60 and it's a pipe dream unless you change the servos in your heli.

The physics in Clearview for the pro are just not that good, however, their Trex 450XL is pretty spot on, from what little I've flown of it.

No problem - one other thing now that I think about it.

If you increase the servo speed in Clearview, see if you can edit the throttle and pitch curves and tell me what they are.

Clearview is on my Laptop which is at work right now, so I can't check the screens myself. Although I just had an idea to get the Clearview Pro performing correctly.

Bzinfinity: Your approach to FSOne is great, I have one for a month, training for the CPPP which I intend to purchase soon. I am not that qualified in programming the sim as you explained, it seems it would benifit my practice if the sim would duplicate the helio. Would you help me set up FSOne for the CPPro? As you can tell I am a NEWBIE, have been reading the forums to get most of the info I can regarding this helio.
Thank you for participating in this forum, hope you can spare the time to help me out.

this is exactlly what i needed to hear!! I bought a cp thinking i could fly it! LOL..haha thats funny.. ive got no more wings left and decided instead of buying more parts ill buy the fs one with controller for know and put the cp back in the box..Figure i quit while im ahead!! seems to me this simulator acutally has the bladecp and is configurable to different specs to make it more lifelike so im hoping to master the simulator while doing RADDS tutorial as well!! then if i have the nerve ill get it off the ground!! lol
Ill use your specs on how to configure the blade and let u know how it works for me once i get it!!

ELC - were you able to set the heli up in FS One the way I described? If not let me know, I will get in touch with you to try to help.

Sounds like yer the man when it comes to FSOne bz.............. tell me this.....why is it when i am flying the blade cp with the tac con ........... I put the example Tx on the screen by hitting E in the keyboard......it shows a non heli based mode 1 controller??
The help menu shows nothing for changing the transmitter ( I did copy and create my own) and it still is the "backwards" example. Funny.......thier website is dangerously non informative! Seems I was looking at some forum somewhere that had a Hanger 9 rep posting, but I never saved it.......heh!

Dude~ thats friggin crazy.

I have never used that feature before, mine is the same way, I'll mess around and see if I can find a way to change that.

What do you use the example Tx for?

I just wanted to see how much stick movement i was doing.......... but it is so backwards...........i keep watching it..and not the main shaft of the heli. Also have tried recording flights with no luck. I did try to create your pro like you originally suggested.........but as soon as i try to load it......the program crashes. If there was a window to toss that program thru........ I would......heh

Yeah, I have that problem with some of my ParkZone planes, when I try to configure them to use a different size prop or voltage, FS One crashes, it's quite odd.

yo Bz,, i just got the Fsone installed and flying ok with the cp and went to make my own heli and am not having luck in confiuguring the heli like u did!!
the only thing it would let me do is copy the blade cp then EDIT that heli! when i press edit i get the drop down menu of aerodynamics,Mass, Motor/engine,Main rotor, Tail rotor, Servos... Can u please tell me how to configure from here??
I clicked on Motor engine: and modded the speedcontroller inputvotage from 9.6 to 11.1v like u mentioned but dont see anywhere else to make the other changes like u mentioned!! any instruction would be apprectiated!!?????

OK EDIT:
instructions:
S75 servos (GOT IT)
11.1v to ESC (GOT IT)
Changed AUW to real life Pro actual, to simulate LiPo even further.(?????where do u do this at??)
Changed Servo Travel distances, this you will have to experiment with to get as close as possible to your live heli. ( GOT IT)

Hey BZ,
Here are the pro's pitch curves in Clearview:
pitchCurve1 -3.0 -1.5 0.0 1.5 4.0
pitchCurve2 -3.0 -1.5 0.0 1.5 4.0
Did you figure out what it was that might get it performing correctly? Also, I don't see anything called 'servo speed' per se . Is there anything else it might be called?
Thanks,
Ed
