You didn't mention what type of heli you have. If a Blade CX/CX2 or Blade CP/CP Pro, just use your finger nail or a small pair of needle nose pliers. Don't be afraid to pull somewhat. There is a set of ball linkage pliers that makes things easier and a must for the higher end heli. Here's a link to a set of link pliers: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLSV3
That's pretty much a going price, you may find it somewhere less expensive but not much.
