Default Blade CPP with G90 Gyro question(s)

I just installed the g90 gyro and have a few questions and concerns. Im a newbie, so Im unfamiliar with gyro's. Im running the e-flite brushless motor and 25 amp ESC. I hooked up the gyro with the remote gain using the stock transmitter. According to the book, the gyro stays at 50% and the knob on the controller is at 3 o'clock putting me in heading hold mode, is this correct so far? My problem is I have VERY little room for adjustment. When I go a little more clockwise, the motor will not power up and counter-clockwise the tail wont hold. Sometimes in a hover it just drops and loses all power or twitches badly, what Im I doing wrong here? Please help!

hrm, a couple of things I can think of to look at although I dunno much about gyro troubles.... this is hooked to the tail motor right? and you're talking about the tail motor spinning or not spinning?

double check and make sure both of the pots on the 3 in 1 are turned off with the battery removed (only one matters, but I can't remember which (probably the 3 in 1 gyro), but it's not a bad idea to have them both turned off which is fully counter clockwise)

you might also try flying the heli without the gyro. I helped a guy like this a while back and it turned out to be that he got a defective gyro.

mostly this post is just to bump your post so someone who knows more about it can help you out =)

Is your tail motor still the stock brushed unit? If so the first thing I think that I would do is to change the tail motor. If your helicopter has glitches as you describe, could be EF from the brushed motor.

Yea its the stock tail motor, I fixed the glitching by turning down the prop gain, like the manual says, (I missed that step), still I cant get the tail to hold, its somewhat holds in hover but as soon as I climb it turns badly almost losing control. It seemed to hold better without the gyro. Maybe its defective? What else should I try?

unplug the remote gain and try adjusting with the manual gain pot on the gyro and see if you have different results. Also mke sure your proportional is all the way down on your 3 in 1

Installed the DX7 radio and now learning the remote gyro settings. I have both modes at 100% and then I turned the stock gyro up to about 30-40%, seems to hold great in hover but havent tried FF yet. Is this a good way to set-up the gyro?
