Difference CP CP+ CP Pro

I went to the LHS and they have the CP +. I asked what the difference was between the CP, CP + and Pro. Basically they said the CP was the first model and most people modded them with a LiPo battery and flat blades for tricks. Then Eflite offered the Pro which was basically a modded CP, came with the LiPo and flat blades for 3-D. He said the CP+ was the newest one with a CP set up from the box and flat 3D blades included for 3D once you learn to fly. The CP+ was $199 at the LHS and the Pro online is $249. It would seem the CP+ is a better heli from what the LHS said, but it costs less? Is this possible? I was thinking of getting one used off Ebay (go for around $130) instead of getting new for $200. Thoughts?

you can get a nice one from ebay sometimes, and sometimes you can get one that needs more than 70 bucks worth of repairs making it so syou should have just bought a new one. It's hard to say one way or the other. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't
about the cp+ vs the cp pro, the pro has the bell-hiller head and the plus has the hiller head. Also the plus doesn't have a control for channel 5 and the cp does for remote gyro gain or whatever else you want to use on it. Either way would work. To upgrade to the bell-hiller is 15 bucks from the hiller, and the difference in cost of the Tx's is 50 for the cp and cp+ and 55 for the co pro, but you're not that likely to sell that remote and get a cp pro remote for 5 bucks more. If you have your own computer remote then it wont even be an issue.

Don't quote me on this but I believe the biggest difference you will find with the CP+ is that it does not come with a bell hiller head. I have a CP Pro along with a few other helis. If this is going to be your first tail rotor heli I would not recommend the CP Pro. In my opinion the Blade CP Pro might be one of the hardest mainstream tail rotor heli's to fly and if you can master a Blade CP Pro I truly think you can fly anything. I have never tried a CP + but from what I understand they are not as responsive as the CP Pro. So a CP + would be better suited for entry level heli. So if you are learning I would recommend the CP + over the Pro. The Blade CP's in my opinon are not the best helis to learn on. The proper helis to learn on are very exspensvie. My T-rex 450 is a lot easier to fly than my Blade CP however there is a big price difference.
I also would have a hard time recommending someone by a used Blade CP+ if they are learning. If the helicopter is perfectly trimmed out of the box it is still hard to learn to fly. If it is a used helicopter and it is not dialed it will be very frustrating trying to learn how to fly. Unfortunately you will have no way of knowing if it is stable or not. When you get a Blade CP of the ground for the first time if will fell very unstable even if it is dialed. If you do get a used one I would recommend having someone test fly it first and make sure it is set up right before you give it a go.
This is all assuming you are going to be new to these tail rotor helis.

I just bought a CP+ last weekend. Im already flying it outside with no problems except trying to fly nose in (need more practice at that). I learned on my CX2 for about 4 months before getting the CP+, so it wanst a huge step up. I thought it was quite easy to fly the CP+, after hovering for about 2 full batterys i pretty much had it down. Ive heard from others that bought the CP Pro who say they never did learn to fly it, maybe the CP+ is just that much easier to fly i dont know. I am more than happy with my choice, this will do everything i hoped it would and with some minor upgrades (like CP Pro mods) should easily fly inverted if i ever want to try that.
The only difference i can see between CP+ and CP Pro is the pro has bell hiller, where as the CP+ only has hiller. In the instructions book it says that you can install a gyro to the CP+ and explains in detail how to do it. The CP+ also has the idle up lever for using the control to fly inverted. (bumped it once or twice by accident while holding the heli, live and learn).
I dont know much about all this as i am new to it so maybe im mistaking, but ill take a look at my book once more to see.
(my CP+ came with the 3 cell LIPO battery, but the charger is a piece of ----. Luckily my CX2 charger has a slot to plug in a 3 cell 11.1V LIPO right next to the 2 cell slot, works great)

Here is something that the manual says about the G90 Gyro. "the transmitter included with the Blade CP+ does not offer proportional control of the fifth channel, it will not be possible for you to use the remote gain control option of the G90 for setting the gyro mode and gain from the transmitter." So unless im mistakeing, that means you have to set the gyro by hand kind of like you would adjust the gain trim and built in gyro of the 3in1 unit. So you can still use the G90 gyro you just cant adjust it from the transmitter on the fly.

There are four leads that come off the back of the gyro, 3 of them go to a connector that plugs into channel 4 of the receiver. Well thanks for the advice. I currently have a fair amount of time on the CX2 and the Real Flight sim. I understand that the CP's are tough to fly and even a t rex is easier. I have access to a large gym everyday to learn without wind and do not have the current money to get a T-rex. It was looking to be in the range of $800 when all said and done including extra battery and spare parts while the CP would be around $200 used with extra parts.
I am willing to get a used one, I know they can come with problems, but I am good at fixing them and this site is a huge resource. Plus there are 3 LHS within 20 minutes of my house who carry parts and for a small fee would trim it out if I was unsuccessful.
