Default CX2 problem

I have this cx2 (got it used) and the thing wil hover and lift for the first minute....then I am wide open and max out @ 3-4 inches of the ground for a few minutes after that. I have tried a new battery, and it has a bit more lift at first, but then does the same thing. What should I look for and try, to fix my mini chopper?????????????????????????

Thanks

The brushes on the motors might be wearing out. It probably isn't the 4 in 1 or 3 in 1 depending on what you have. Thats all I can think of. Some of the other CX2 flyer's might have a better idea. New motors would probably be one of the cheaper ideas to go with.

Does everything turn freely? The 4 in 1 is the LAST thing I would suspect. Was this after a crash? What have You replaced?

If You forgot the step washer (or put it in upside down) or got the retaining collar too tight, that will certainly do it. Check for binding, and let Us know.

Gary.

Either the charger is junk, or the motors are caput.

everything spins freely, I lubed the bb too. I am using the eflite charger........it take 1.5 hrs to charge back up.

How many runs does it take to start wearing the stock motors out????????

I will try new motors........should I just go stock, or go with something better???????????

Thanks 871

Do a few test for me.

1. Check your battery to make sure that its balanced and charged at 4.2v per cell 8.4 total.
2. Check your blades, test, boil, blance and track.
3. Check your gearmesh.

If thats not your problem then test your 3-1 or 4-1, and replace the bearings. If you still have issues then try new motors. Please keep us posted.
Heres more for you.

blades are good, batts are good.

I did notice while both rotors spin pretty freeley, the top spins twice as easy as the bottom. is this normal? A finger flip on the bottom I get a half rotation, a flip on top about the same force I get a full rotation.

thanks 871

Ok. Then it does seem like either gearmesh, bushing or the motors. Try bushing first (cheapest) then motors. Most everyone in here will recommend xtreme's 180 .

One more thing I forgot to mention.
Check your locking collar under the swashplate to make sure that its not down to tight. give it 1/2mm free play. Same with your upper hub.

Naw, leave the blue head alone, and pull the gear off the bottom instead.
