I'm actaully innocent in this one, I was hovering it about 6 feet in the air in my backyard, I flew it across the yard and brought it back to me a few times, then it happened... the Heli started glitching pretty bad the first two I was able to correct but the last one sent it backwards into the ground. the damage was limited to a tail motor and boom. so my question is, How do you remove the tail boom from the main frame and tail motor mount? it seems like it's glued in or something is it just pressed in or are there some screws I'm not seeing?

I couldn't get mine out either, my boom was fine but the frame was broken. The boom just splintered into bits when i twisted it. I don't think they sell the boom and tail rotor mount seperatley anyways do they? I have seen teh package and just the frame but not the boom/tail rotor set.

Use heat, a heat gun or hair dryer will work. I have used a pencil torch, but you really have to be careful. Heat it well, then twist it. This has worked every time for me. Spread the word, I have answered this several times

just a though but has anyone fabbed up a tail boom out of aluminum tubing? the OD looks about the same size as tranny cooler lines. I don't know it's just a thought.

There are aftermarket aluminum booms avaialble. I remember stumbling across them somewhere for cheap. For me the problem isn;t the boom its the frame where the boom mounts as it is such as small mating surface and is easily broken. I used heavy glue to fasten the boom the whole way up the HH Gyro flat mount for added strength.

Here is an idea......bring a sample of your boom to an Archery store and ask them to match it up with either a carbon fiber or aluminum shaft.....CF is one hell of a lot stronger then the stuff the factory uses and there are some CF arrow shafts that have an alum inner tubeing also for the ultimate boom. they wont charge much either. But make sure they cut it to the right size as CF is a tricky animal to cut.

The boom and tail motor mount are two separate parts. This would be a good excuse to order the cnc twin motor mount and MicroHeli verticle fin. The only time I ever broke tail booms ( six of them) was when using plastic blades. They will cut the boom every time, even aluminum booms. When you install the new boom, just push it on and use a few drops of CA where it joins the body. This will make it easier to remove the next time you break it.

I am telling ya...if you use a CF arrow shaft as a boom...it will be the last boom you will ever need to buy.

CF arrows come in a large selection of diameters from tiny to fat I am going to the archery store soon (either today or tomorrow and I will give you the shaft number that fits) and if any of you have a hard time finding the right one I will be more then willing to ship them pre cut.
for the cost of the shaft and what ever actual shipping there is.
