I just discovered i broke my the lower rotor head. one of the molded pins snapped off. Causeing the heli to always push forward.
my question is should i replace it with an aluminum piece? Will those pins be as tough as they look on an aluminum head? or should i keep using plastic ones?

Guy drill through and put metal and make their own. "I" choose to just buy the CNC lower rotor post. The CX2 and CX300 come with the blue CNC top head. Beyond these two piece I would not recommend anymore CNC du to the weight and.................when you crash, and things start to break, like the pin on the lower rortor post, that absorbs enegery! So when you make some parts bullit proof then the parts connected then start to break. However back the CX I have been flying that little puppy for two years and done fine as I discribed. Good Luck.

Ibroke those pins a few times, and the swash plate too. Iupgraded both pieces to the cnc alum, and have not had anything break since.

You need to remove the upper blade assembly first. This is accomplished by removing the battery tray, then the lower gear. The whole assembly will slide up and out. After thatpop offthe clips that attach the swashplate to the lower blades. Then remove the lower blades. .Lossen the 4 srews that hold the lower post and it will slide up and out. When you reassemble be sure to line up the holes in the outtershaft with the upper screws in thelower post. Also when you reattach the lower gear be sure to line up the holes in the mounting collar with the flat spot on the inner shaft.
Here is a link that will help, however some of the stuff contained in this video will not apply to you. Just watch how he dissambles the rotor assembly to get to the lower rotor head......
