RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Not flying the CP Pro but can hover for 5 mins about 1 to 24 inches off the ground. I do move it as I hover to bring it closer to me or away. Maybe I'm flying? How do you get the nerve to fly? Doing this in my living room. Maybe I should take it outside?

I'd say go ahead and take it outside and have some fun with it, if you haven't taken the training gear off yet, go ahead and leave them on. If you've already taken them off you might consider putting them back on for atleast a flight or two, then make sure there is no wind when you go out for the first time, and keep it within flying manuvers that you feel safe with =) overall it sounds like you are doing real well though |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Hello people, I was wondering If anybody here is interested in buying my blade cp pro. It would be pretty much just replacement stuff for yours right now. It has everything besides the 3 in 1. So, instead of spending 50 bucks and getting a new 3 in 1, im goign to sell it and get a different, better heli. If anybody is interested, please elt me know. Thank you!

Choppersrule Here:
On a very Serious side, please take your time to read and send John a get well card. One of our helicopter friends, has had a triple bypass heart operation a few days ago. He hasn't posted in some time due to health issues. He's 51 years old and is recovering well in San Antonio Texas. I'm sure you remember his screen name, "JELLISON". He is extremely knowledgable and I miss his inputs. A dear friend of his, has been e-mailing me and updating me on his progress. Below, is a small portion of the E-mail I received this morning. And the address that cards or letters can be sent. Thanks fellas, I truely appreciate it, and I know John Ellison will be thrilled to receive cards and letters from fellow heli guys. Dave / Choppersrule ================================================== ==================================== Dave, I don't know just when he will have the energy to get back on line himself, but I do know it won't be long. Until then we will keep you posted. Those of you who wish to send cards or letters may use this address: John Ellison 946 Kayton Avenue San Antonio, TX 78210 Again, he wishes to extend his thanks for the energy and good wishes you have provided. RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I agree with mrasmm 100%. Try to hover heli about 5 ft. and land that heli before the battery goes dead, or it can cost u lots of money and many many hours of unneccessary work. Good luk!!!

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Question! Does anyone get cramps in your right hand when trying to hover for 3-5 mins at a time? I seem to even start turning the radio to the right and get even more of a cramped position. I guess this is trying to steer the radio and not the stick. Any good way to stop this if you had the experience?
|
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Darticus,
I've never experience the cramping in my hand. But, I may sugguest that you try a transmitter strap, hangs around the neck and attaches to the transmitter, that will help support the weight of the Transmitter. relax.
I think it will go away as you get more comfortable. When I first started I was so nervous, even when flying the sim the gimbal ends would dig into my thumbs terribly. It was the old death grip. I actually filed off the neds of the gimbals so I could fly the sim without causing pain. It gets easier. |

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I think I'll make a lamp out of it. Very weird, unreliable electronics. Weak parts. Its a poor quality product Venom sells for way more than the original 22E. It was my first micro heli, when I'd never had anything other than nitros. I honestly think it could fly well if a guy replaced all the electronics. Lots of power, even in the stock configuration. Very responsive head both in cyclic and collective. But the reliability and quality are not up to the standards of other brands. I should probably change my Avitar, but I think its funny that the NR3D is still on there.
I've still got the NR3D, but since getting my CPP I've flown it very little. In too many flights to count, I've never had a failure or incident with the CPP. No crashes, no glitches, nothing. It was even easy to change the crystal and use my 9C with it. I couldn't be happier with it. Since the NR3D broke constantly, crashed constantly because of part/electronics failures and since they're the same size class heli and I purchased them within a month of each other I can't help but compare the two. I like the E flite helis. I wouldn't recommend a Walkera to anyone. |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Hey gang,
The stock motor in the CPP has a 9 tooth pinion gear on it and doesn't seem too spunky when throttle is advanced. Once the pitch opens up there is more lift and the heli climbs, but the rotor speed seems to drop a bit...I think the 9 tooth is a little too much and am thinking of trying an 8 tooth. Anyone who has experience with the 8 tooth...SPEAK UP[sm=48_48.gif] I also have my pushrods in the middle hole of the servo arms, which makes it easier on the motor with the reduced pitch. I'm running 2 heat sinks on the main motor. I think part of the issue with not being so spunky is the fact that I fly at 2,500 feet altitude and it's usually 85~95 degrees when I've been flying. Another issue is that it's a brushed NSS motor. (NSS=Not So Spunky). I'm running the E-Flite 3S-800 ma packs with about 11~13 minute flight times depending on whether it's mostly hover or flying around. When I stop flying there is enough juice left in the packs to climb out. Thanks, Amir |

I only got about 20 flights on it though before the main bearing went out on it. It definately ran cooler with the flat blades and super skids that I was running at the time. BTW I'm at 5k' up here. Post your experience when you get the 8T if you would =) |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
oh, also some people have had some luck with the slow-maxx motor I believe from helihobby. It seems to have more power, but I don't know how that affects the flight time or anything like that.
|
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
How warm or hot should the main motor be after each flight? I can touch mine after each flight without getting burned, the motor is very warm. About 7 minutes it's down to ambient temps. I don't have paste on the heat sinks yet.
Amir |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I personally wouldn't put paste on the heat sinks. You can try it and see if it yeilds significant results for you though. If it really lowers the temps it might be worth using. Temps should ideally be in the 110 to 120 range. I too would like to know what other people are getting for temps because my motors also seem to be running hot.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
the CPP deal sounds cool. I just can't decide whether or not I want a ntiro truck or a CPP (or why not both) I personally would purchase my Pro new because a bad Ebay experience with my CX has made me want to purchase a lot of stuff new. I do trust that pepatrick is telling the truth. Whatever. Nice long thread. Mini T

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I think that the Tail rotor heat sink is a joke. I have a CX and did not put on E-flite's heatsink. Also, if you put that silicone thermal grease on there, it will be a mess to clean up. So in my opinion, just get a burushless or only put the heat sink on the main motor and make sure that the grease is no all over the place. Mini T

Hey Guys
I'm new to heli's and want to set my CP Pro up on my 9C futaba Does any one have a program that is working good for them? I know it's a pian to post a full program but it would really help me out thank you Ron |

Mini T As far as getting one off ebay, that's a bit of a gamble =) Sometimes guys are selling choppers on ebay to upgrade, and their chopper works beautifully, but more often than not it's a heli that they either cannot fly, or one that has been busted up and they can't figure out what is the matter with it or how to get it working, or it's a real expensive part that they do not want to bother with. |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
AeroDave,
Thanks for the input, I certainly don't need anymore lamps in the house.:D I kinda figured but wasn't sure. I had a Walkera (Raptor G2), makes a good dust collector. I keep it on the shelf for spare parts, some are the same as my TREX. Currently, I have the Blade CP, CPPRO and a TREX, but, I'm always interested in STUFF.:) Thanks again, Dave / Choppersrule ================================================== ================================== ORIGINAL: AeroDave I think I'll make a lamp out of it. You bet, Dave!
As I said, I bought it without knowing about the whole Walkera thing. I'm leaving now to go flying with a guy who wants me to set up his "raptor" G2 that won't fly. *sigh* I know what you mean, its always fun to check out new things. Dave |

Good luck helping your buddy on the G2. I just purchased a Honey Bee King II, belt drive thingy, to add to my collection. Got it today, haven't opened it up yet. Have to pay bills tonight, yuk! RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
ORIGINAL: noguy I have been running the low max with a 9t an it has waaayyyy more head spead and tourqe. The punch outs are night and day over stock motor. However my flight times with fff and some rolls and stall turs (no hard stuff) are about 9min. and my eflite 800mAh. batts are getting right to the limit on temp. I dont think the eflite packs have a high enough C rating for this setup. I am going to get a 8t and try that. I think it will be just right. I know someone else using the 9t on the slow max with no probs but they use TP 15C packs. I am betting the headspead with the slowmax/8t will still be much better than stock & I am hoping for a few more minutes of flight time. i will post my 8t results here when I get one.
