Battery Hold-downs?
Building my first .40-size electric after a life in glo and parkflyers. How do you guys hold down big flight batteries inside airframes? I always used velcro for my little 3S/2200-sized lipos, but what techniques do people use to keep these 14-16 oz batteries from exiting the fuse? Will a strip of velcro still do an adequate job?

RE: Battery Hold-downs?
anti-slip carpet tape on battery + hook-and-loop strap (strap with hook on one side and loop on other side) wrapped around the battery and a suitable hold-down in the airframe.
Both materials available at Walmart.

RE: Battery Hold-downs?
Thanks guys. I like the carpet tape idea. Hook and Loop strap, you mean a couple of those cloth straps that doubles over through a slot at one end, and holds the tail down with velcro-type stuff? I'd really prefer a rig like that than having to pry the battery off a patch of velcro each time I charge.

Also available in bulk rolls that you can cut to desired length (no "slots", make/attach your own slot/ring if you wish). Strap has continuous hook-material on one side and continuous loop-material on the opposite side.
