Default Gearing up

Looking for a good light F3A set of landing gear with about an 8" rise. Where does one go?
Thanks,
RC

Thank you for the info.. One more quick question for those in the know. What I am looking to do is lighten up a little on the gear. I have the standard Integrall gear on a newly purchased electric airframe. They are heavy at about 6 oz. The old Comparf offering weighed in at just over 3 oz a set, the gear that came on the Impact. I cant find any anywhere and I would like to find something similar weight and style wise. How much prop clearance do we really need? Longer is heavier.

The set you have on the Integral I sold you are not standard. They're the Bolly F3A Long. I'd be happy to buy them back or work out some sort of a trade for the brand new Integral gear I never used. I have three pairs of those.

Hi Verne,
I was hoping you would chime in here. You told me never to part with those gear and I always take you advice. I got a good deal on an airplane from Mike Doud for myself and the gear on it are the heavy Integral gear and I was looking for a possible longer and lighter replacement. The old CompArf gear were much lighter but I take it the ones you have are the brush cutters like I have on my new purchase. Say it ain't so and I'll get a set off of you.

I am not varying one iota from your set up on the Integral. I have a Hacker C5014XL ready to install with the CC 80 ICE. I think the ESC may be a little lighter though and I hope that won't be a problem. The plane will be as you left it except for that.

The sets I have are the ones that originally came with the Integrals. I recommend you keep the Bolly's.

Bolly stopped making gear a couple years ago but you can get exact clones of those from http:\www.aeroproduct.net . The exact copy of the Bolly F3A Long you have on my old Integral are listed as Aero F3A Long. I ran those all last year on my latest Integral. The set I flew last season weighed slightly more than the original Bolly's but I got the first set out of the mold. I suspect they've gotten lighter as the molder's technique improved. BTW, I'm sure they're an exact copy of the set you've got because the set you have on your Integral were used to make the mold

They are around 100g for the pair, the only other gear that is as light and gives ground clearance is the Wistmodel gear, but you can't purchase them as a standalone item anymore.

No, they are still around as far as I know! What I meant is that if you do not own a Wistmodel plane you cannot purchase gear. So if you own a plane you can get gear as a spare part for it. As least that is how I understand it.
