Good luck on getting that comp in Derek. I'm hoping to fly in my first comp with the Toxiris this Sunday but it rather depends on the path being taken by ex Hurricane Bertha which is heading for the British Isles as we type!

Well, Ex Hurricane Bertha won and the comp had to be called off. Six weeks + before the next chance to fly in a comp what with holidays and such like! In the mean time, I'm going to try and fly her without the winglets to see how I get on. I'll post when I'm done.

Well, after the competition season had finished, I removed the winglets and flew without them. I didn't notice any significant difference in battery consumption but the aircraft felt very skittish without the winglets. I would say it felt very solid with the wingliets. So, I've put the winglets back on!
Unfortunately, I damaged the undercarriage mount (it twisted forward by around 40 deg causing some damage) and after repairing the damage I'm trying to find the right shade of purple flim to cover the area under the undercarriage legs. Anyone had reason to patch up their Toxiris and then had to cover the damage? The purple colour I'm looking for is as in this photo:

Thanks.
