Default Masterspin 99 Controller and C50 13XL Comp Setup

Anyone care to share/list their settings for the Masterspin 99 and C50 13XL Comp?

I am particularly interested in the setting for Acceleration. Default is 1S. The higher the setting the softer from what I was told. I experimented on the ground with 2S. Seemed OK, but I just don't have the experience to really know if it is right and proper. The instruction recommend like 2S for larger props and 5S or more for helicpoters.

Has anyone set up the braking feature on the Masterspin 99 and tried it?

Hello J Lachowski

I have a Masterspin 99 and C50 13XL Comp and my setiing is:

Acceleration is 1S

Initial Brake 0%
End Brake 10%
Speed brake 0.1S
Timing 0ΒΊ
Curve Exponential

I hope this helps.

Any particular reason for using the Expo curve over a linear curve? I was told to leave it linear and use the throttle curve on the transmitter.

Hi Joe, yes with expo curve you have a smoother response to acceleration at the start and low throttle which is good for the motor specially if you have a inrunner with reduction

Hi Guy's

Just wondering what is the diff between C50 13XL Comp, and the 14XL, or 15XL? Also what is the optimum speed controller setting and prop combintaions for each of the three motor?

Was always wondering about the difference was, hopefully someone can help.

Thanks for your help,

Different windings resulting in different Kvs meaning you need to use different props to get the optimum load. The 14 seems to be the most popular swinging the APC 22x12. The 13 wants to turn at a higher rpm so you need a smaller prop. The 15 slower so it will swing a larger prop.

Timing should be set at 0, 1, or 2 degrees. I use linear curve, soft acceleration and slow shutdown.

Hope this helps, Jim
