I have a limited amount of flights on the E-motion at this time. My original set-up was taken from one of my Integrals minus any mixes. It turned out to not need them. The first flight needed no thrust changes and only a minor trim change with elevator. Rolling manuevers are clean, up lines and down lines are straight with no pull out. Rudder is strong but is still easy to get along with for small corrections. The E-motion has a large presence in the air with a very consistant flight speed. I have found when compared to the Integral I have been flying also electric the E-motion allows you to slow down much more without showing any wing rock. I haven't found the E-motion be too sensitive to CG changes at this point. This plane actually gives you time to plan for the next manuever. Because this airplane is built for electric power only it should be pointed out under normal conditions batteries are coming out at temperatures of around 112 F. During the contest at Lake City temperatures were around 100 degrees. Even then battery temperatures were no more than 123 F. To me this is amazing when you look at the E-motion's air inlets and outlets. The duct work on this plane does work. This airplane is big inside. You will not have any problems working with it. I'm using a Plettenburg for power combined with TruRC packs and have no lack for vertical even after dialing back the high end of the throttle curve to 80 %. Even with the size of this plane there is no weight issue. Hope this answers some of the questions that are out there.

Larry,

Can you post some pics of the interior of the plane? I don't believe we've seen any of the completed plane - servo mounting in the fuse, stabs and wings. Motor mounting, batteries and controller as well.

Derek, Here are a few pictures showing inside of airplane assuming they did attach to the post. I'll post more over the weekend as I'll have the plane out for practice. Just to let you know it takes very little time to finish this plane. This plane was completed within 30 days. For me that is a record as I've been known to take my time when building.

Thanks Larry. It looks very straightforward. I noticed that it does not have a baffle to direct air out the bottom of the fuselage - I'm assuming it doesn't need it? This is what I did with the element... (the hole in the fuse hadn't been cut out yet)

Derek,

If I'm not mistaken, the only air exits are the ones molded into the fuse sides. The rudder post is also open so that eliminates the need to direct air out, as it will go out both the rudder and the gills.

Hi

Could some of you that have flown both the e-Motion and the Addiction comment on how they compare with respect to flight characteristics.
I am especially interested in how they perform in rolls and snap-rolls. The Addiction seems to have a fairly big wing with a wide tip chord. This is maybe not in line with the latest trends ? At what relative speed do they like to fly, is one of them a "faster" plane than the other ?

How do they fly in the more demanding "side-force" maneuvers like knife edge loop, rolling loops and so on ?

Is it possible to get within weight with a heavy Axi 5330/F3A up front ?

I have flown the Addiction that Chis Moon has. The plane roll extreamely good, point rolls are very good, snaps and spins are also very good. The plane tracks very good and the speed was very good, not to fast and not to slow,..very constant. I flew many rolling type loops with the Addiction, with and without point rolls,etc. This has to be one of the best planes out there right now IMOP for E-power.

I can't comment on the E-motion other than watching it fly one round,...it seems to have all of the qualities of the Addiction. Very good constant speed plane, perhaps a tad slower on the downline. The E-Motion has a very nice presence in the air as well.

The E-motion has only the side vents. One entry vent and 3 exits. The rudder post is solid. I did add the front bottom venting for the motor and 4 openings in the firewall. (all 3/4" diameter) Meeting Chris tomorrow for some practice. I should have even a better impression of the E-motion after that. Bill is correct the E-motion does seem to be a little slower in the downlines. Very clean airplane yet does not build up speed. I'm currently using a APC 20.5X14. The plane performs very well with it.

Congratulation to Larry Kauffman for his 4th place finish in this year's NATS in Intermediate. Plettenberg 30-10 EVO power, YGE 80HV controller and True RC 5000 packs. Nearly 80 grams under weight with no special effort. Pics of Larry's plane with "Miss Delro USA"

Making progress finally. About to order the second kit as the first was sooooooooooooooo easy to build.

Waiting on a roll of dark red covering and my PPG paint to show up. Hope to paint most of it on Sunday.

I added an adjustable stab kit to mine. I like the ability to adjust it if I feel necessary. As it sits, with all the hardware (most still in packaging), all the servo's, and wire's, look's like it is 10lbs 7 ou. Plus paint, and monokote for the rudder ( I added all other hardware.). If I could paint light, I may add about 6 ou as this fuse is pretty big. Most could paint lighter, but I will probably shoot for something close to, but under 11 lbs in the long run. Don't want it any lighter. Plus I like an extra coat of clear so I can wet sand and hand polish it to a smooooooth gloss. We'll see.

Very nice kit, and plane.
