Default elevated tail rotor

Hello! I've been reading this board for a while and thought I should share my elevated tail rotor mod. It's just some rubber tubing heated into the curve I wanted and the boom pieces are just friction fit into it. Just sharing a fun idea.

Hi all

This is my Version 3 Elevated Tail Rotor. Anyone can guess what material is it for my Vertical and Horizontal Fin/Stabilizer? Hehe.

from what I've read it gets the TR out of the downwash of the mains, and keeps the TR from hitting the ground........

The benifits are just what crazhorse mentioned but, the other feature I've found is since it's rubber tubing it's slightly flexable at the angle. A crash that is boom first, gets deflected. Plus...it looks cool....

Hi JZGOON

The brushless tail motor is from CDROM motor. I rewind it with 10 Turns per pole. I use Castle Creations PHX-10. U can build your own Brushless controller but I would say the task is time consuming and not worth the time and money. I recommend just buy it.

Oh... One thing for sure is that elevated tail rotor will prevent (Or just reduce) the tail rotor from hitting the ground if u land tail section first. In real helicopter, UH-01 (Huey), UH-60 (Blackhawk), Apache, SeaHawk, and many more are Elevated Tail Rotor.

what about for the main motor, does it have enough power for that? or do you need a bigger/stronger motor?
