Hi guys !
I just want to know what is your flight skill and how long it take you to learn rc heli.
For me, before I decide to buy I practice 1 month on realflight G2 simulator.my first flight was hovering and on my second flight I pass the side-in and nose-in. But while I was trying foward flight I crash my machine and I'm waiting for replacement parts
I'm still on realflight training foward flight

Good choice Fifon. If I could learn again I would've done it with a simulator. In fact I wasn't even IN to R/C helis until the shop I work at got the Blade CP. Since nobody knew how to fly them I took a shot at it (I had park flyer experience). Ever since then I've been hooked.
I learned how to hover reliably in about a month, a month later I was doing forward flight. About 4 months later here I am, I've done a lot of work to my Blade CP and I've done a lot with it. Still holding off on aerobatics involving inverted flight, but I'm pretty competent right-side up. Unfortunately the Blade got in a crash almost a month ago (simulators make crashing EASY!) and that's when I realized that I should move up to a better-performing heli, with a pitch-controlled tail. So now I hope to get the kit for my upcoming T-Rex 450XL in a couple of weeks.
Breaking stuff sucks, but it's also kind of fun in its own right (at least reassembling the whole thing and maintaining it).
Good luck!

In fact the heli I crashed is a dragonfly #36. I've order the parts on heli-fever one month ago and I'm still waiting. I don't know if my box is lost or not so I decided to order a esky honey bee CP2 (blade cp like) on heli hobby (fast shipping) and I will get it tomorrow.
I think I should done like you DarkWombat, honey bee or blade first, and t-rex in second.

I did some serious sim time and was able to hover in about a week with the real thing. I am solid in a hover and can handle nose-in and side-in within reason (although I need more room than with tail-in). I have been flying for about two months. I like the Blade. So far it has been very easy and cheap to fix. I have gone through a few sets of blades, shafts, tail booms and landing skids but have not replaced anything in a couple of weeks. I was able to fly the blade in my cubicle at work for the first time yesterday. I flew an entire battery while in my tiny cube, it was close a few times, but no contact!

I would say Im at the crazy aerobatics stage. Ive been experimenting with inverted manuevers, loops, rolls, stall turns, piroettes, etc. I've only been flying helis for about 7 months? I started with a XRB, and moved up to the Blade CP, now I am currently building a MX400 because Im getting a little bored with the Blade CP....its time to move up to the larger more agile helicopters.
Sorry dont have any video, but perhaps Ill make one.

Fifon,
I got a blade CP about 3 weeks ago. Kind of a fluke really. A friend had gotten one & wanted me to help him set it up (something wasn't right on it). I told him I really didn't know really anything about heli's but I'd give it a shot (I'd only flown planks up to this point). I had only flown heli's on this sim a few times & wasn't really interested in them. I thought they just looked boring in the air compared to 3D planes. He said not to worry about crashing, because everyone who had flown it had crashed it. I checked it out, found the problem, & proceded to hover it. Hovered tail in fine & I was HOOKED! I went to the LHS & purchased one immediately! After the second day on it I was flying figure 8's. I believe flying 3D planes has helped immensely. That & a little time on the sim. The simulator is your best friend when it comes to these things. I don't mean for this to sound like I've got it all together or anything. Just to encourage you that, it can come faster than you expect. Bdavidson is a great example of that too. I can't wait to get to where he is.
I just ordered a Trex 450SE today, so I'll have something I can grow into. It sounds like you're doing pretty good to me, and going about learning the right way too.
Happy Flying!
Bdavidson, A video would be awesome! I'd like to see you wringing out that Trex!
