FWIW - the Falcon is a lot easier for me to fly without the training gear. The Falcon is also a lot tougher than it looks (I've had what I thought would be some horrific crashes - but haven't broken anything yet - yeah I know, I just cursed myself...LOL) . If there's no wind it's also easier for me to fly outdoors than indoors - less stuff to hit and a lot more room to make corrections.

That's just my take - your mileage may vary!

RJO, once you master scooting around on the floor and are pretty confident of what each control does loose the training gear. It caused me more problems than it helped. Make sure you get at least 1 1/2' to 2' feet off the floor to clear ground effect, it will make the heli much easier to control, and do it in one quick shot don't try to ease it off the floor, the heli will just move around all over the place. If you know you are going to crash kill the throttle before the blades hit something. This not only reduces crash damage, but if you stall a blade against something under power it will cause the motor to pull more amps than the 4-in-1 can handle and it will burn out. If you crash and the head pops off, leave the heli where it crashed and check to make sure one of the rotor core bearing didn't pop out, if it did there is a good chance you can find it in that area of the crash with a larger speaker magnet. Wlecome to the board and the wonderful world of helis!

well i charged up the battery and put the heli outside on the grass. powered everything up. it was working ok a little twitch but not bad. then It wouldnt respond at all to any control inputs so i went over to retrieve it and it spooled up full throttle and then stopped and it fell out of the air about 3 feet or so, no damage.the throttle and the throttle trim were all the way down. this thing does ehat it wants to do . lol and i am lost with what to do now with this thing

Maybe this was asked before, but:
1) TX has new batteries?
2) RX and TX xtals secure and tight?
3) Damaged antenna?
4) Antenna wrapped around skid, or strung out?

i have checked and rechecked everything 2-3 times all is good...........a while back i had robo do a little work for me he said that he tested it before he sent it back and that it was working good so he fixed the problem which is why i sent it to him in the first place. As soon as i got it....it was doing the same thing so i am gonna go out on a limb and blame it on the Tx or unlikely but still possible the crystals. Thats all i can do i guess is get a new Tx with a set of crystals. Also i see gpach has a Tx and a reciever for sale so i may just kill two birds with one stone and buy them. gpach i sent you a p.m. on that

Hey thanks for the tips, I actually have two usernames on here, some cookie issues initally, RJO and USAFCSAR, I actually finally had some success with the training gear on, with a few good hovers. You are right though, a little more space will stop the over corrections. Actually lost a tail rotor this evening, so Im done until my my new best friend at USHobby can get me my replacements. Good night

What do you guys think about this motor: http://www.maxxprod.com/pdf/PMX37xx.pdf ? I'm looking at the PMX3745. If one of you electrical guru guys could take a look at the amps, KV and the such and let me know if you think it would be a good match for the Falcon 40.

i will agree with you on that !!! i got my Falcon maybe a week after i got a Honey Bee FP. i've replaced alot of parts on the HB....i have not replaced a single part on the Falcon...and it takes the same abuse as the HB. [>:]

i do think my main motor is on it's last legs though...but no worries there

Nice. Looks like it could be a winner. Little pricey, wish you could see the top of the motor. Can you replace brushes? BB vs. the current sleeve is a big bonus. Should handle 7.4 or 11.1 just fine.

Michael, come on you can do it! Rick, blade tracking isn't really adjustable on a FP heli. You can try to bend the blade gently up or down in the direction they need to go, just becareful not to bend too much or snap.

i usually check to make sure the rotor head (part the blades are attached to) is straight...sometimes the ends holding the blades have a tendencie to dip down alittle...

Hey all.. I have a DESPERATE QUESTION... my bearings in my rotor head came off (as everybody elses does) and i could not find htem so I ordered some bearings for hte falcon 40 and they DIDN'T FIT? i remember the ones that came on it fit easy, but the bearings I ordered for the rotor head it was not even close, they fit on perfect, but then the rotors would not fit over the bearings.... It wasn't even close i pushed and squeezed and pushed some more.. any ideas? maybe send me a link to the correct bearings... any help would be appreciated.. as of now I have two little custom made plastic peices in the bearings place working like a charm but would like the correct bearings on there... I can hover fine w/ the plastic peices.. but any forward flight its hard to even the copter back out... not surprised considering I have custom made "bearings" in there but thanks for any help! LOVE THIS HELI!

http://www.ushobbysupply.com/product...products_id=39

These are the large bearings that go on the rotor head core, and connect the rotor head.

Chevy, you need 3mm I.D. x 6mm O.D. x 2.5mm thick bearings.

the majority of the micro heli's have a screw & washer to hold these bearings onto the rotor head...the Falcon dosen't use this method ??

There is a modification to keep from losing these bearing in a crash. Check out post 383 page 20
