what do you mean no drivers? install your transmitter as a "generic" through the game controller config in your control panel
does windows even recognize the tx is plugged in?
if it does and fms just doesnt wanna recognize it there is a simple solution
search for a program online called JoyToKey its a universal joystick adaptation program
that will allow you to prgram what does what EG all the sticks correctly it will also allow you to use
the analogs correctly "proportional = analog to a pc"

PPJoy is what I use also..
I just bought a copy of Clearview, only $30 US and the guys have already done about 5 updates, so its getting better all the time.
It actually uses real photos for the scenery. Much better than FMS in my opinion..
Download the demo and try it out once you get your joystick working

Well I've been trying for over 3 hours to get FMS to work with my Walkera #4 TX and I still can't get windows XP to recognise the Controller. The Walkera TX came with a serial plug so I inversted in a USB dongle. I can get PPjoy to see the port is open but I can't get a signal from the TX. I don't know if it's the coputer or me, if anyone has an ideas??
Would be most appreciated.

Check out http://www.smartpropoplus.com that might be a help.
smartpropoplus works directly with FMS or indirectly via PPJOY with anything

Hmmmmm Well, I've done as everyone has said and rewired the exciting plug, changed the plug to work with the SMARTPROPLUS system and still no luck!!! I did manage to get e signal with the SMARTPROPLUS system but when it came to calibrating the controller in FMS the signal was jumping around all over the place. So after yet another 4 hours I've still not got my Walkera #4 controller to work with FMS. Has anybody got any ideas before I wipe out even more of my Helicopter? It's getting desperate and expensive now.
cheers,
Chris......

Download ppjoy. When it is downloaded go to the "ppjoy" folder. In there is "setup.exe". Open that and it will install the folder "parallel port joystick". Then go to control panel and open "parallel port joysticks" which is a "configuration utility for joysticks that plug into the machines parallel port". Open that. Click "add". It will open the "configure new controller" window. Then change the "parallel port" drop down from "LPT1" to "virtual joysticks". Plug in and turn on your transmitter then click "add". Then ppjoy will go through downloading whatever it needs to and it may take a while. After that to use your transmitter on fms you need to do this. Open "ppjoycom" in the "ppjoy" folder and change the "serial protocol" to "zhen hua 5 byte protocol" then turn on (and plug in) your transmitter. You will see the "waiting for stream int..." change to "reading serial stream...". Then open fms (leave ppjoycom open reading the serial stream) and go to the "controls" toolbar then in that go to "analog controls". Then change from "no interface" to "joystaick interface". Then click mapping calibration. Change the numbers to the same as the picture down the bottom and then click "calibrate" and follow the instructions given. This process work perfect for me and there used to be a website with all this info on it but now it doesn't exsist I've had to sit here for 45mins typing it out. I really hope these 45mins make you able to use fms...

Hi there Kevinator9
Thank you kindly for going through all that info for me I'm sure it will be of use to alot of other people too. I've been through everything step by step as you said, but I've a problem after changing the 'serial Protocol' as is won't change from "Waiting for stream init" to "Reading Serial" so I'm guessing that there's a problem with the Serial cable supplied be Walkera or the 'Serial to USB" adaptor isn't compatable. So I'll look into finding one of the newer cables I've read about on the internet. Or maybe try my Hitec TX.
Thank you once again for your help

I have a falcon 40 and got fms to work using ppjoy. I had troubles at first because I was trying to use a serial/usb adaptor. I then tried the cable plugged directly into my serial port with frustration again. Finally I realized that my serial port was disabled in the bios of my computer. Once I enabled it and went through the whole rigamarole the same as Kevinator9 graciously typed, it finally worked.
