Don't you have to run an awful high headspeed with those blades? Since they are Aligns they are really only 305s not 315s unless you are talking about the 325 pros and are listing their real length?

They're ALign 315 Pro's, the head speed does go a little higher than the 325's but it just seems to give it more stability and response using the 315's. I don't know the actual length...just the brand inprint size.

Just wondering. Align measures the overall length of the blades instead of from the bolt hole to the tip like everybody else and that makes their blades about ten milimeters shorter. I ask because with wood blades the head speed required for decent performance is borderline safe with the 325s so with 315s I worry about blade failure. I have had a set of the 325 pros explode for me once so I know first hand with those. Now I use true 325 CFs and that made a hugh difference in flight caracteristics.
Just my two cents worth that's all.[8D]

For me, I run a fiberglass scale fuselage. The 315's run a little hotter in head speed, but it takes the floatyness of control that I experience in 325's away. I DONT shove my heli hard when running 315's...just normal scale flight/take off/and landings, not a lot of flexing of the blades. It tracks perfectly and no vibration with the 315's and it has solid handling characteristics, I can't get that with 325's no matter what. It's more of a personal prefrence because of personal experience. Even with the King2, I found shorter blades improved handling/response.

That's cool,
Did you notice an improvement in handling in the wind? Like less ballooning?

A resounding yes.....it cuts a lot of the wind abuse right down. I've put it up in 20mph winds and maintained decient control here in the yard. Some ballooning, but not as severe as with the 325's

i wonder if the 315's would be better for 3d?? i would think faster collective response with less bogging.. i am going to clean the oil of of the one way bearing, loosen the belt a tad, and step up to a 13t pinon..

I do scaler...11T is good, 12T is OK, 13T is just too much H/S. If I were pushing it hard with inverted/loops/rolls, a 13T would be a good thing.

yea, i am currently using 12t. but i need more.. collective response is just too slow, so i need more punch to keep me outta trouble when pushing it hard. not sure if i can use the woddies with a 13t.. ??

Depends on which motor your running but either way I wouldn't risk it. You can get CF blades for less than $20 at HC and at DX.
I'm running the 325 Z weave CFs from HC and love them!

+1 on the Align 315 blades. Those are solid performers for sure! I have ran the blues and the yellows and love them both(Plastic and CF). There is something to be said about perfect tracking and performance. Last set I bought was only $14.99 for the CF's. They have went up to $18.99....

Crash...WTH happened to your lil rocket ship? Spunktrum really got you there too? It looks like that recall is for 6600 rx's only but I will look at my DX6i under the batteries to make sure I don't have the 800 series they are quapping about....Good luck with the Fuktaba...I think any radio can turn into a steaming pile of Shhhh- aving cream..

"Z"...I got the Futaba 7c in today. Plugged it up, didn't work. Pulled the X-TAL from the TX and used the X-Tal from my Conquest 4, it come to life on my AreoStar .40. NOW...comes 3-4 days of learning the programming/page navagation....sheesh. I've owned DX6 (x2) and DX7...all failed. I've NEVER had a Futaba die on me. This 7c is the 72Mhz system, as soon as some money breaks loose, I'll upgrade to the FAAST 7c system.

I told you to stop trafficking those rare Saskatchewen kittens in EXI boxes....Didn't I???

LOL, "Plugged it in, didn't work" That's a killer start! I hope that the manuals are a little more helpful than the Spectrums...Good luck!

Peace,

I bought a 7C this winter and haven't been able to make myself change to it from my T6xa super because it works fine and programming the 7C looks like a lot of work. It came with a PCM RX and I want to use that on my 30 but it's just sitting in a box so far.[:@]
Looks like a real nice radio though and I've had zero problems with the Futaba 72 mhz.

Hey "Z", I got my 7c. A few probs I had to work out that were related to crystals, and my being un-fimiliar...but I already got the 120deg CCPM programmed in and working correctly. Got a bad rudder servo right now, I'll have that cured it a bit, then I'll work on fine tuning. Theres a lot of things to learn in programming to make it really nice....I got my hands full for sure.

I think it'll be OK for a boat/buggy...just standard programming. What it was doing was the RX was constantly kicking out but I don't believe it was the RX...it was the TX. You could probibly send it to Horizon and get back a "good" TX for very little $$$. Your package arrived today also.

I got this 7c in here, it works fine EXCEPT, it's in PPM mode because the RX is an FM/72Mhz, and in MY area, that means glitching...and it does glitch (same as E-Sky/E-Flite stock radios). I need the Futaba R168DP (RX) which uses PCM...then there won't be any glitches, and I can program the TX to use PCM mode.
