No Sir,
I do not believe that you are trying to fight me. I believe that you are just trying to verify (from your perspective) what the video claims. I also believe that if you now go to that link, you will see the real-time timeline that happened after I read your comment from U-TUBE.

NICEwebpage you got there !!!!!!!

My thoughts on that video and Stryker.

First things first: That video bites.
It shows a Stryker launching but then either the Enterprise or Klingon Bird of Prey (not surewhich)zooms by at Warp factor 5.2 (at least).

2nd and more importantly: I know the power systems in that Stryker and I know it has previously been flown faster with different setup and that his next setup (whichMoparmyway already has) will have a significant power increase as compared to the set up in video and will fly faster.

Isuggest no info is given on this setup, and when next video will be ready (hopefully in 2-3 weeks) that it gets posted along with full specs. Since you have 150A Eagle tree data logger along with many sensors on board that you can post a few nice in flight charts of various parameters, a much better video for Doppler/evidence and as much details of your power system as you wish to share.

I expect well above 150 MPH by most people's analysis.

Now back to the Funjet programming.

I am not too sure. You see, that video was supposed to be for the zip start launch. I dont remember which motor/prop/battery it was as I flew a whole bunch and got them on video. Stroke of luck it went over 150, thought it was more like 140 while I was flying. I guess I need to re-calibrate my internal speedometer.

Anyway, I will get another video that is set-up better within a few weeks. I am a little occupied right now with a few other projects.

hello everyone! Since i am going to be entering into the funjet craze i was wondering what setupi should use to get my plane flying (what servos, esc, motor battery ect...). Im really looking to get long flight times as i am going to use the plane for FPV. any suggestions will be greatly helpful in my final decision.

Hi theb1bman I like the Idea of a carbon FJ ,what are you using to cast the mold with is that plaster or a rubber/silicone product. Will you be making a plug first using the mold in the pic's in order to make a more detailed production mold? Blanik213

plaster then I'll roll 4 to 5 coats of epoxy and then bondo and paint it.That hold up nicely plus I can putheat cureand not lose the shape of the mold butkinda suck to move it around. There not to bad around 60 pounds.

here soon I'll get some pics my computer crashed last night and today

I have some servo covers made but they did not come out the best the mold is to small to work the carbon and Kevlar fabric and then bagging it. So I need to make a new mold for those parts

theb1bman if this works out to the best of your expectations you are going to be making alot of FJ's,Good luck with this project .I am concidering making a mold of my modified TJ but I will first make a number of test flights to check that the mods are sufficent and on target then mod another one that I will make the mold of.

Twin Jet that almost forgotten plane .The Fun Jet is the new version of the TJ with improved airframe less drag and cheaper to go fast with only one of everthing but I believe with the right mods the TJ can be very fast and easer to see at lets say "160+" and yes manny will say that will never happen, I think other wise. Here are a few pics you might find interesting the build threads on rcgroups under pusher prop jets/twin jet build tips and talk I know this is a funjet thread but the mods I've done can be done on the fun jet or any foamy for that matter.

theb1bman ,

You do great work. I am very impressed.

Looks like you may be able make a DREAM Funjet airframe.

On the high side of battery packs, the following have been previously used in Funjets by various people:
4S-5000, 5S-3700, 6S-3300
5S-3850 and 5S-5000 are in the works too.

No doubt low speed flying capabilities go out the window and launching them takes some practice.
But that is how 160-175+MPHcan be achieved.

My new Custom MEGA16/35/1.5 was tested to near 2500W on 5S-5000, I am 100% sure it can lay down above 175 MPHpasses even though it is 28mm motor, 56.5mm long, 160 grams, 5mm shaft.<o></o>

<o></o>

500W per cell….yes<o></o>

<o></o>

Below is screen shot of APC Pylon 6.5X6.5 on TP 4S-5000 30C at 25% discharged pack (ground testing).

Other pic shows the custom motor next to regular 480 sized 110 gram MEGA16/25/2 2650KV3.2mm shaft.

<o></o>

Note: Given Funjet’s limited cooling airflow to the motor, there would have to be some throttle management.

Hi guys,

I've read pretty much this entire thread. Good stuff. I used to chat with Gryphon and CP on the Stryker threads. I wore out my Stryker and got into a 50CC electric Extra for a while. 2 6S 5000 packs at a 100 amps is some juice

Anyways, here is what I have left over from my Stryker. What would this do in a Funjet?

Mega 16/25/3
CC 45
4S 2200 packs
HS 82 MG servos

In my Stryker I think I remember getting about 95 mph at 40ish amps on a 7x7 apc. The verticle was great and overall flying was enjoyable. For that speed range I liked the low amps and thrust. I thought about building another but want to try something different.

I also previously ran an HET 2w-25 on a 6x4 but the amps were way higher. The speed was a little better and the verticle was awesome but it was crying out for larger packs.

Are my Mega and servos to heavy for the Funjet? I would like decent flying with a top speed of 110 to 120 mph. I could sell the mega and go to a higher kv if needed but I don't want to waste money if I don't have to. If I wanted to do 170 I would just buy a ducted fan jet.

I am also looking for the mods I would have to do to fly in this speed range.

Thx

Rino

Hey all, I've been messing around with homebuilt combat wings with my brother, but am getting back into high speed stuff again. Finally got my FJ back flying again! Wanted to say hi to you all, missed you guys!
