Four and six boggy setup for concrete or grass runway. Removable with fair ease. Everything screwed together.

RE: EDF Airliner build thread
Hello, Very Nice Airplane!
But would it be possible to make the middle of the fan more smaller? The silver point in the midle of the fan is very large..? Or is it natural scale? Absolutely fabulous Aircraft, Im now thinking about gettin one of Ians Airplanes my self. The Super Airliner from E-flite is too expencive here in Norway compared to the prices in the States for an example. Regards Lars |
RE: EDF Airliner build thread
The 307 kit details are now on the 307 website at http://www.edfmodel.com/307-airliner-xidc23532.html and I am accepting pre-orders.

RE: EDF Airliner build thread
Did some taxi tests of 307 today. Really love the way the engines behaved -nice jet sound. On 7s, there is a lot of power their (not that it is needed). Didi not get past 3 notchs on throttle.

RE: EDF Airliner build thread
Apologies –there seems to have been a problem with that video link –now fixed.
The video is at http://www.edfmodel.com/video-clips-xidc8766.html Ian. |
RE: EDF Airliner build thread
Would it be possible for you to make a full power engine run video of the 307?
|
RE: EDF Airliner build thread
Hello Jetengine7
Yes, no problems. Lots more to come. Stay tuned. Ian. |

Folks,
I have completed which I have been planning for some time: drilled the holes for all windows on the fuselage skins. There will be a thin, transparent layer behind the holes, when I finish the fuselage assembly. I am making slow progress but I move forward, I will keep posting pictures. Thanks Serdar NOTE: The holes are exactly the same shape and size, and they are perfectly clean with no jagged edges. I have made the pictures small so that they upload faster. That is why the picture quality is very poor and the holes look as if they have jagged edges. |

Here is a close-up image of the holes on the front fuselage section. Holes are cut using a home made device which is an attachment to a low temperature covering iron.

RE: EDF Airliner build thread
Hello Serdar
Well done. I supoose the next thing is to put lights in the fuselage? Ian. |
RE: EDF Airliner build thread
Hello Ian,
The main purpose of real windows is cabin lighting. It will be a 20cm long, ultra slim fluorescent bulb powered by a mini ballast at 6V. The light output is just right to provide a realistic glow during a night flight. The only remaining action is to paint the inner fuselage to eliminate light glowing through the fuselage walls. Your too much! Hurricane Larry |

There is a video of the 307 model with an on-board vid camera at http://www.edfmodel.com/video-clips-xidc8766.html
A new dimension and it produced some good results. Views looking at wing engine and trailing edge. Let me know what you think. Ian. |

RE: EDF Airliner build thread
There is a video clip of the take-off and landing at http://www.edfmodel.com/video-clips-xidc8766.html
Bear in mind full power was used for take off and with a thrust to weight ratio of 75% it appears as a rocket ship. Easily controlled in the gusty winds. Two successful flights of around 5 minutes with power left, flaps appear to work on final approach slowing things down. At this point still fixed U/C. 7s 3300 mAh used. Easily carry 8s. No rudder and not required. Tracks well on ground. AUW 4 kg. On a nice claim day, I would expect some really nice footage especially on landing.Good range of speed and flew well. Ian. |
RE: EDF Airliner build thread
I have released the final specs for the 307 http://www.edfmodel.com/307-airliner-xidc23532.html
It is that time of year again. To all. Ian. |
