I almost sliced my finger off while testing my motor/battery. I bumped the controller and the prop put 2 gashes (~1 inch) long in my finger. I can see my muscle. If the bleeding doesn't stop I am off to minor emergency to get stitches! My wife is a nurse and she says it doesn't look too hot......ah well. 1 handed typing sucks too!

Had my transmitter on the same side of the plane as the starter. Got the plane started, reached over to put the starter on the side and the starter wire pulled the throttle wide open. 5 stitches, middle finger, right hand. Don't do that anymore.

Ive got about 5, 1/4"-1" long scars ontop of my right hand from the prop on my hyperwing hitting it while hand launching. Since then Ive did away with hand launching by the little fairing on the bottom, now I just grab it by the wingtip and sling it out, works 100% better.
Another time while fidling around with the pushrods on my hyperwing I bumped the throttle and cut up 2 of my fingers (pointer and middle), werent very bad cuts but it hurt like hell to write anything as the pen layed right on top of them.
Just 2 days ago when I was adjusting the servos on my ultimate I bumped the throttle stick and the plane took off full throttle right into my arm (the plane was on the ground facing me), now ive got two big cuts on my right arm. They were bleeding so bad I had to take a paper towel folded into a big sqaure and tape it over the cuts to keep the blood from going everywhere.

Superglue works the best for cuts. Having been a mechanic for 15 years and getting cut everyday I decided to keep a tube of Superglue in my tool box. Ever since then I have not had one stitch. Heck I superglued the pad of one finger back on from being alomst completely cut off. Also had a finger cut down to the bone and all I did was clean it up, add a dab of superglue to it and splinted it for a couple days. Might be a good idea to stay current on your tetnis shots.

The other day I got cut and decided to try some pf that liquid bandage stuff (band-aid brand), you know what what its made from? CA, it says so right on the bottle, I was surprised when I first saw it.
By the way audimaxx, have you flown your cessna any recently?
I havent flown mine in weeks, I moved my servos over to my ultimate so mine isnt flyable right now, plus for the past 2 or 3 weeks its been WAY too windy to fly. I wish the wind would die down some time, even late evening (just before sunset) its windy.
Last time I tried to fly my ultimate it was way too windy, but for some reason I just had to go out and try hovering it, nosed it in and it broke the carbon fiber rod that the gearbox mounts to and put about a 3" long crack in the foam going down the fuse. Ive fixed it but I screwed up and put in left thrust instead of right thrust [:@] I figured since it was already broke id try adding some right thrust to account for the motor torque, but I ended up puting in left instead of right, I feel like a total dumb-ass now.

I got a bad cut just hand fliping a small APC prop mounted on an IPS gear box.
The instructions with the prop warn about this, but who reads the instructions?

Just got 5 flights on the Cessna this morning. Wind picked up..and for a while I was fine. Then the wind made it do a barrel roll and I decided after landing it that it was too windy. It was a fun experiance. I am noticing that I have to give it has a bad pitch up when flying.....maybe I need to adjust my trims. I have the Lipo as far forward as possible, but it still pitches forward! i will have to work on it when the wind calms. Good luck at the field! I am charging my GWS Dragonfly as I type for some indoor action!.....

Well, I went to the feild but when I got their the wind was blowing 10x as hard as at my house, I didnt even bother stopping.
Not to mention on the way over their my plane got attacked by a car-seat in the back of the car. As far as I can tell it didnt break anything but the plane was pretty beat up to begin with so itd be hard to tell
It did pull one of the aileron servos off and I didnt have any tape with me so I couldnt have flown anyways.

I got another 3 flights in yesterday afternoon. I have landing down like a pro! Cut the throttle....slow..flare...down and roll! I was sooooo tempted to try a loop...but decided against it [:@]...maybe next time. If it didn't get so dark by the time I got home, I would be flying every afternoon!

I suggest the first time you try it, get the plane a good ways up, give it full throttle and start going down at an angle to pick up speed, then try the loop.
But your using a 3s li-po right? Yours might have enough power to do a loop from level flight, due tot eh power increase and lower AUW.
Its been blwoing (and raining) here so I havent got to fly since last time I got my plane stuck in the tree. I bene messing with my cars but now Ive got a broke part on each one (a hub carrier on one, and a shock tower on the other) so I cant do anything with them till I get the parts in, which will be saturday. Its supposed to rain from tomorow all the way till next week tuesday, so I guess it doesnt make any difference whether their usuable.

when I started in this hobby along time ago lol I would occasionally rap my finger witha wood prop ..I cussed swore I wouldnt do that again and after a few cuts finally started witha chicken stick until startes came out..and I reas the stories here and once again it reminded me just because its electric doesnt mean you wont get hurt if your careless. I am also flying my first giant gasser and my instructor just flips it with his hand ..man I am not that dumb yet..the prop is 22 inches ouch.. and the plastic ones on my electric have had razor sharp egdes until I sanded them.

Reminds me of the time I was messing with the engine on my dads 1/3 scale extra ( I forgot the model number of it).
It has a gas engine with a spring loaded starting system, to start it you turn the prop backwards a few turns and let it go, at the time I didnt know what I was doing so I turned the prop backwards and let go which was a big mistake! The prop spun around and got me right on my knuckle [:@]
Im pretty sure it cracked my knuckle bone (sorry, I dont know its technicle name
) because it hurt liek hell for a few weeks straight.

I understand that CA glue originated in the medical field.
I understand that CA glue originated in the medical field.
It works real good to put small cuts together(I use from time to time too), but I would NOT recommend it. Even the foam safe stuff is a very strong irratent(sp?) and can cause bad allergies to develop(same goes for epoxy - also not good to pour into a wound, plus it sets slower
)Use it for building models. [:'(]

First article I ever read about CA was in a 1959 Model Railroader magazine. The product was Kodak 910 Slide Mount adhesive. It was the first comercially available CA family glue. One of those little 2 gram metal tubes cost about $9.00, which was big bucks back then.
The first tube of CA I ever obtained was a tube of a Liquid Bandage type product that was thrown out in some trash. That was about 1962 or 1963. These products were not useable with wood or paper or other porous materials. I never had much sucssess with the Crazy Glue that was sold through TV advertising.
Sometime in the 80s one of the Engineering magazines I get was talking about the excellent results a research group was having treating bleeding ulcers by piping down small amounts of a CA type adhesive to the site of the ulcer.
Most of the alergic reactions to CA I have read about are of a respiratory nature-from breathing the fumes. I have been burnt when I've dropped a bit of CA on sweaty exposed skin. One burn on my foot left a small crater that took several weeks to comepletely heal.
The Epoxy reactions are from skin contact. The resins and to a higher degree the catalysts for epoxy can very easily cause skin reactions in even mildly sensitive people. Polyester resins and catalysts seem to be even worse.
