Hey av8tor . what size bit do you use to drill the hole for the 8/32 pressure tap ? also , do you have to tap it out or can you just thread it in the hole ??

You use a number 29 drill bit, which measures .136". And yes, you must tap the hole with an 8-32 tap to create the threads for the pressure tap. I also use a bit of Loctite on the pressure tap when I put it in.

once you add the pressure tap to the boss on the carb, is there anything the has to be done on the inside of the carb ? do you have to modify that black plastic film or anything ?

Nope, no other modifications. Just make sure where the pressure tap goes through the cover that it doesn't protrude and could damage that diaphragm as it moves, and you're good to go. Just hook up a tube/hose from there to your pressure tap on the engine.

Well.... got the carb on the engine. But wasn't not happy with it ! the venture size is a 15. maybe this engine cant handle it ... I even opened up the exhaust port some to see if that would help, nothing ! it was really not responsive to the throttle and the mid range was horrible ! once you got it to WOT it was ok, and if you went to WOT from idle it would die. put the old carb back on for now. and it is pretty snappy with it a all ranges ,maybe it is as good as it will get. The stock carb is 13.5mm venture that I cleaned up inside a bit.....who knows.. :-(

What do you think av8tor ? Maybe the exhaust is too small. It has two 1/2 inch stinger pipes . Maybe I need 3/4 in stingers ?? But from what I read, thiss engine should handle up to a 16MM venturi carb !

Yes, on that size engine I would definitely use two 3/4" outlets. I use two outlets with a minimum of 1/2" i.d. on 21 to 25cc engines.

That engine should do fine with a 15mm carb. Try it with the 15mm carb with the larger exhaust outlets. If it doesn't run well, I would suspect a problem with that carb.
