I did mine using Ralph's technique and material choice after having less than stellar results with the CH part. It is in it's second plane now, and has proven to be bulletproof so far. Several gallons through the engine.

CH has a new style intake. Its two parts. Aluminum that bolts/jb welds to crankcase and then a delron spacer for heat dam. The Delron is only under compression, the aluminum does all the holding.

Hey Terry, how much are the new style carb insulator? Got a pic you can post? I've got a Poulan 46 with the old black one piece insulator that has held up very well, so I see no point in changing it. However, I do have another 46cc brand new still in a Poulan Pro saw, and I might want to get the new style intake for it.

If i put the carb mount on with epoxy can i take it off later and put mount on another motor. I've got carb mount made. I made it out of G10 epoxy board that i got from our supplier. I have two made one that is 9/16 thick and one that is .900 thou thick. I'm going to use the short one so i can get a motor in the cowl of a plane. I'm going to have to cut one of the cooling fins on the motor to get mount on. Then i'm going to put two 6-32 screws in from the sides. I will not have to pull brass pressure tube out of motor because i milled it out of my mount so that it will line up with the pressure hole on my carb. I will try to put pics on here when i'm done.

Here is the carb mount i made for my poulan 46cc motor. I made them out of G10 epoxy board. I notched one fin out for carb to set then i put red high temp silicone around mount pushed it on an drill and tapped the set screw holes in motor and mount. I made my mount to where i could still use the brass tube stiking out of motor for carb pressure. I milled a 1/16 slot in mount to intersect with hole in carb. After making this mount it instailled very easy. Here are a few pics.
