Fuel flow data anyone?

Hi,
I'm batting this idea around. (At least in the back of my head for now...) I'm thinking of taking the top off my Blazer, sitting in back while my wife drives, and making a long distance flight of about 60 miles with one of my gasser conversions.
An 8" pitch at 8000 rpms should give about 60 mph, (assuming no wind), and that would work fine. Anyone have any idea about how many ounces per minute a 30cc gasser will use at 8000 rpms? Mine turns 9400 at full throttle, so I'm guessing 8000 will be some where around 3/4 throttle. I know mine flies for quite a while on a 10 ounce tank, but that is never at a steady throttle setting. I can make some measurements sometime, but I wondered if anyone here knew off the top of their head.

Sounds fun to me... but lets hurry up before the "safety guys" jump in. What size tank r u using? Maybe cut the distance to 35-45 miles for the maiden flight? BTW Blazers rock! I'm on my third one now, 78 model. Last one ended up upside down when the nut holding the pitman arm for the steering came off. 44" x 20" tires didn't help!

Yeah, it's an idea I've had for some time. I think it will be fun also. My Blazer (well, it's a "Jimmy") has a killer 454 that I built in it. Too much fun.
I'm thinking my Homelite 30cc engine might use about a quart for the flight. Does anyone think about 1/2 ounce a minute for a Homelite 30cc conversion running at about 75% power sounds about right? Just wondered if anyone had fuel consumption numbers for my armchair dreaming. One of these days I'll do an actual consumption test on it so I know for sure. The last place I lived, there were these guys with a model plane they developed to help with Border Patrol. Amazing stuff. They could put the plane on autopilot, and tell it to go circle the area several kilometers away, and take pictures. Then they would take off in their van full of electronics, and the model would follow. When they stopped, it would resume patrolling until they moved again or told it to come home. They had a four stroke engine on it, and big saddle bag type fuel tanks on each side.
I just need to be sure that whatever I rig up for a fuel tank won't be able to slosh fuel around and change the c.g.

Good point! I only drive the old girl when I want to play now. At the price of premium, she sits a lot while I drive something more economical. Actually though, she gets better mileage at 13 mpg than the stock, carbureted small block 350 powered Chevy trucks I have had.
But man, it sure is a thrill when you turn that big block loose! One time I hit second gear at near 7000 rpms and blew the drive shaft right out onto the pavement! (With an automatic trans!)
