Unsure of the size and vintage of this homelite. Reportedly RCIGN did the sensor and magnet installation.

And another Homelite engine that I would appreciate comments on regards suitability and weight. Different than the one in first post.

acctually if you look close enough, they look like the same engine, but the first one someone chucked the jug up in a lathe and trimmed everything down round... and spent a lot more time trimming the case...

What did the captions say about the engines in the pictures?

If you look at the exhaust outlet they differ in size, shape, and bolt hole patterns. May be same size engine but their are differences and one I suspect is weight. Read searching here that 33 and 40+ used same head at one time which made the 33 heavier than necessary.

I don't see so much difference in them except the machine work that someone did?

But I have no idea about any exact specs?

Of course you are correct. Having troubles here, too much food to digest. Gee notice how the intake is a different shape on one compared to the exhaust of the other.!! [sm=red_smile.gif]

I think that is just the way the intake looks on the recent black top saws. The current red top saws have a round intake for a rubber boot.

Speaking of indigestion.... I'm miserable

That motor is a either a Homelite 33cc or a 38cc chainsaw engine. It looks like the cylinder was turned down on a mill turn table. The second engine looks like a homelite but the crank shaft is wrong. Homelites have nearly an inch of shaft sticking out before it tapers down to the thread.
