Default What size plane?

I thought this would be a good place to post this, since these conversion motors weigh more than usual, and I'm sure some people here have experience on which planes to put them on.

I am in the process of converting a 30cc Homelite/Ryobi, and from the looks of it it should weight a little under 4lbs when I'm done with it. I got plans from Uncle Willie, http://*****************.com/about36.html, for the 60"-120" Das Ugly Stick. In the description, he has a rule of thumb that works out to a 1.20 size engine for the 120" span. The 30cc is 1.80. What size should I make it? I've only built 1 kit before, and never done one from scratch. I don't think 120" wings would fit in my car, unless I built them to come apart in the middle which I saw someone do on a build thread here, and it seemed to work out pretty well.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks!

A 80" span stick would be fine for your Homelite 30.

That's what I have mine in and it is just right.

Sounds great, thanks for the quick reply. I might go with 85" just so mine is bigger than yours. HA!

I am going to add extensions to my wing so mine is 86 inches span, but I have a 33 cc engine.

Bigger IS better.

I want one of those, but they are out of stock. I emailed to see when they would be back in stock but haven't heard back from them.

There two of these. The bridi Stick and the Old Timer. They are identical except for the name on the box. They are both out of stock.

Mine is about 9 yrs old now. I bought two kits at once. one of each. I still have the other kit. I had a Big Bee kit for several years and I sold it at a swap meet last year.

The Big Bee is much larger and would do better with a 50cc or bigger engine. It has a Kaos type wing and tail but a stick fuselage. When the Big Bee was designed, Joe Bridi had a Zenoah G38 in mind but you had better build it light with that small of an engine. A friend has one with a 80cc engine. It has plenty of power.

These pictures were taken in Colubus, Ga

I have a couple of converted Mac 32's, and I want to put one on the other kit some day.
