How the smeg did you get the battery onto the Lama??? I am totally AMAZED that a lama would even lift off. But seriously, did you duct tape the bat to it???

the 2200mah 2cell lipo from thunder power is about the same size as the stock 800mah just much longer,so it does fit in the tray half way,it was very nose havy, full stick back almost the whole time
,the motors were warm but not hot and the batt was cold, man my thumbs were about to fall off after 20 min.[sm=thumbup.gif], i would make another crazy vid but i think it would be boring watching lama hover for 20 min.

those little co-ax can lift about anything, counter rotating blades increase the lift about 50% or more I understand. In one of our LHS they had a co-ax flying around with a 2800 ma battery velcroed under it. Actually was a Cx-2 but they use the same motors. looked akward but it flew pretty good.

My Lama can't even haul the stock 800mAh battery anymore. I just get ground-effect hovering. It must be a bad connection or 4-in-1, because the trimming hasn't changed (ruling out a bad motor). I have been using an 11.1V battery lately and the Lama has amazing power. I'll try and post a vid. Of course, the motors will burn out eventually...

thats the giveaway that the motors are gone is when the little Llama won't lift off due to low rpm. You dont hear it but it only has to drop off a little. This is only true if your battery is fully charged. You may want to check the peak voltage on your battery after charging it. Should be about 8 - 8.4 volt.

I flew one of my relatively low hour Lama V3s last night with a 3S 1300 MAh battery in it. It flew pretty well and had insane (really insane) power. The only thing I noticed is a greater tendency to yo-yo, but that was probably my dumb thumbs. I could also get some super high speed straight line flight, although with stock shafts it did like to wad up during hard cornering (duh this isn't a CP bird). After 3 or 4 5 minute flights it went into a hard left spin although I set her down with no damage (the battery stuck out past the landing skids!). I didn't check it out but I imagine that a motor or 4 in 1 burned out. No worries, that's why I have a spare parts bird!
