Hello, anybody will identify this one ?
It has been bought on e--y GB and has a very curious design with a rear induction + a RC carburator and a single OHC. The compression screw is the "windup key" visible on the head, near the lonesome rocker ...
It appears to be a .25 CI or 4 CC engine, height and lenght are about 10 CM or 4 inches, the diameter of the water jacket is about 4 CM or 3/4 inch.
The craftmanship is correct but not excellent (in fact much better than i could do !), the compression is fair and unfortunately, I have been unable to start it with standard diesel fuel...
Many thanks for your Help, Chris

Chris,
Quite unusual and very interesting. It appears to be a uniflow design.
I imagine it is a one-off engine. That is a Taplin R/C throttle, so the builder may be English.

Did you try an electric starter? Also you could try heating the engine a little.
Very neat 2 stroke engine with an exhast valve - kind of like a 2 stroke GMC diesel without the blower.

The engine are sure made of home machinist. I can see the engine has same function as Le Rhone rotary radial engine with "monosoupape" valve arrangement. The fresh gas are passing from transferports in lower of the sleeve and driving out exhaust out through exhaustvalve in cylinderhead.

Definitely a superb collection, any of Miguel's engines in your collection? What you need is a "home grown" product like the image below, a pity I sold it so cheaply

See, there are difference between Chris.fr own engine and Ployds engine.
Ployds own engine are the four stroke engine with automatic intake valve and camdriven exhaustvalve.
Chris own engine are a two stroke engine since carburator are mounted to crankcase and cam are mounted at crankshaft to active the exhaust. The engine are socalled as "monosoupape" engine.

Many, many thanks for the help, I believe too it's a "one of a kind" motor maybe somebody will name the designer someday. I had even not noticed that it was a Taplin carb on it !
Thanks also to everybody for the great appreciations you left about the web page, I just improve the translation system and add a new page about austrian HP engines, you can try it : http://e.a.t.chez-alice.fr/AAmoteursminiatures.html .
A few weeks ago this superbmonosoupape has been sold on e--y France with a direct offer at 1500 Euros ($1800) my modest 300 euros offer was not very serious
, this "beautée" was probably a prewar I (circa 1910) Letang engine made by a Mr Letang in Paris to power a mahogany speedboat on the Bois de Boulogne Lake (see the old postcard) ....We are far from from the diesel topic but it worth it !

Thanks, Chris - that picture from 1900 is really interesting - so many people watching, straining to see - even one woman in the crowd. It must have been quite a sight at that time to see miniature speedboats.

WOW regardless of whether gas or diesel its over 100 YEARS of model engines (and not steam) and the Letang engine s does
somewhat resemble the Enya 4 stroke with the valve setup driving off the rear. and yes I am on the list for the 4 strk enya diesel from Modelflight Au martin
