I was thinking of using the 1/8 buggy "stone splash guards" http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c00-81052.html on my 1/10 buggy and just cutting them down to size. I'm going to have to take some pics, but I was running in the back yard today. it's a little muddy and I only got through 1 tank, so 15 minutes or so, and my buggy is covered all over the inside. I even ran with the body on. I dont mine cleaning it off. But I'm sure it would be a lot less hassel if I had something to deflect that *****. What do you think? Thanks, Joe

Here are pics of the guards from the hurricane, should be the same. As you can see they are a little long, and they might be a little too wide, but i dont have a buggy and body. I can take more pics from different angles if you need it.

Yeah I'm good to go. Oil in the filter and everything works fine. The radio box is sealed pretty good. I got some puddy covering the hole in the bottom where the servo wires come through and the top is pretty tight. I run the car in the back yard. Since it was warm enough yesterday the snow melted and the back yard was a little muddy. Hahaha I use a hose and run water over it lightly then blow if off with a air compressor. The water doesn't hurt anything, like I said I take my time cleaning her off. I'm going to order the mud guards and trim them down for a better fit. I'm sure that'll keep everything from splashing inside. I'll post some pics once I get done. Thanks guys. Joe

One tip when you're cleaning it is to use a tooth brush and compressed air and then take brake clean and spray it all over the engine except for the heat sink. That will take away all the grease without even wiping it! And make sure to always oil your bearings and pivots after every 2-3 tanks in the dirt.

what do you use to grease the bearings? WD-40? I guess you will have to be careful not to spray the brake cleaner on any of the bearings. Nice tip..thanks

Well what really helps is if you hear like a scraping nose in the bearings then thats most likely sand so then use brake clean and spray the bearings and let it sit for a few seconds and then blow them out with compressed air and then oil them with WD-40. This works very well on my rc. I also professionally race Go Karts and I use this technique a lot for cleaning the bearings. Hears a picture of the kart I race. [img][/img]
Thanks

I got them on. They are upside down and on the wrong side. It was the only way I could get the top plate to sit back down. Although she now looks like she's ready for flight, they work really well and keep damn near everything out. I had it out today in the back yard and didn't have to do any cleaning at all. Just the filter and a quick wipe down. I'll get pics up soon so you guys can laugh at my beast of a buggy. Hahaha
BTW Kyosho DBX shocks on this thing are super sweet. 1000 times better than stock. Then again I'm sure anything is better than stock.
