I probably don't really need to mention this, BUT.....just in case...
Wipe down the area first with denatured alcohol to insure a good adhesion.
Look forward to your maiden report!
BTW, what percentage nitro were you going to use? I'm running mine on 15% Power Master.

i will be using prosynth 2000 10%nitro as recommended my weston's i live local to westons so its easy for me to get hold of

paully i fly just down the road from brands hatch ikuras or someting like that (not to sure of the spelling)
and it is quick much much quicker than my lazzer arrow and i thought that was quick

Hopefully, this will give the definitive differences between the old and new Magnums.
They are:
Kit built from laser-cut wood.
More rounded Wing-tips, Horiz Stabs.
Rear end of fuz shaped/blended in better.
Horiz Stabs have anhedral preset in fuz, no messing about with jig pieces...
Black and white check pattern profilm on underneath of Wing and Horiz Stab.
More rounded fuz shape at the front underside.
Plastic wing bolt instead of original metal one.
Wing dowel location in fuz is a slot and not a hole, wing will more easily slide out if arrival is a bit hard!
Elevator servo is covered by a seperate screw-down hatch, as opposed to the extension of the under-side wing fairing.
Mods:
Reshaped the back/bottom of the fuel tank using hot air to allow the wing to seat properly (phillybaby's idea)
Also had to notch out the top of F3 (former where the wing dowel locates), again to allow fuel tank to move up a few mil to allow wing to seat properly.
Using stock West V1 and pipe, engine mounting holes are pre-drilled, had to notch out a bit of the triangular balsa at the front of the engine bay to stop the header pipe from fouling.
Plastic clevices supplied for use on the elevator push-rods are too big! Had to source some smaller ones from stock.
Sealed all the film edges with clear nail varnish.
I think that's it...
When speaking with Alan at Weston, he suggested using an 8x10. Saves having to cut up the header pipe to accomodate an 8x8 and should unwind in the dives. Not flown it yet as weather's been a bit crap, hopefully will this weekend. I've also got a Demon to try out, but that's only running an ASP 52 and pipe, should be fun comparing them tho'

Just lost mine....
My Nephew saw me flying it, and asked if he could do a lap.....He over corrected in a bank and it hit full throttle. DESTROYED!
I just emailed Modellbau in Florida to find out when their going to be getting more. Hopefully, it won't be too long!
I was swinging a 9x7 APC.

is any one else using a 7+7 i put two big circles on mine with hight visable trim inverted down the strip full sreem as low as you can go feels great what a buzz

A 7x7 seems awfully small for a .50 engine... hell, that's even too small for a .40 FAI engine, and they rev 10000 rpm more...
What rpm and speeds are you getting on that prop?
I tried 8x8, 8x9 and 8x10 sport APC's... the 8x10 was totally crap to say the least, the 8x9 required setting the pipe longer again and the plane was noticably slower in the air (with the pipe set too short, but still)... the 8x8 gives me the best performance: awesome speed and acceptable traction, once the plane picks up speed traction is really good, verticals are endless (except for the fact that it disappears out of sight in about 3 seconds )

i have to put a tacco on it .i read a reveiw on it and the bloke was running a 7+7 the vertical pull is out of this world.i had a 8+8 on it.and that was fast i found that with the smaller prop the top end seems about the same but it hand lauches a bit quicker .does not drop when you let it go i will have to ask the police if they can come down to the flying feild with there radar gun {if it goes up that high} on my first magnum i put a very light piece of tin the lenth of the plane helped to protect it with landings this is my 3rd one there are great but you need open space with it .

i know its an old thread but hopefully someone will get an email, i maidened my magnum today after buying off of a man on friday, the CoG is 10mm back from the furthest back it can go (or what they reccomened (130mm)) when i done a split s (the part which im on about is like going down from a loop) it felt as though i had no control over elevator and was soooooo close to dinging it in to the ground. is this "no control" because of the CoG being 100mm back from the recomended furthest back?

Yes, the CG needs to be adjusted big-time. Mine was super nose-heavy so elevator control was lousy, this also accounts for many a lawn-jart landings from folks!
